Default Would You Do This Trade

As a Portland fan?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...2~22&te=&cash=

Incoming
Shawn Marion
Marcus Banks

Outgoing
Travis Outlaw
Sergio Rodriguez
Channing Frye
Raef LaFrentz

Helps you not only this season, but also takes 17 mil off the books this summer in Marion. It's a win/win for both.

I would only if we were quite sure that either Marion would fit perfectly on our team or that we were quite confident that we would get somebody very good in free agency. Otherwise no. Without the knowledge, I don't feel like giving up a decent amount of talent (mainly Outlaw) just for cap room if we likely won't pick up somebody significantly better than Outlaw.

Hell no

There will be no Blazer with a guaranteed contract after the 2010 season, if this happened then Portland would still be stuck with Marcus Banks, and he would never play so he would be sitting on the bench making $5 million by then for doing nothing.

LaFrentz has been sitting on your bench for what, 3, 4 years now? Making 10+ mil every one of those seasons.

What's the difference now. He's serviceable at least.

blazerjimmy has no real reputation yet.

I don't know about Banks being "servicable".....maybe on an NBADL roster....

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that Raef and Theo's salaries were nearly identical, but that Theo had one more year than Raef - so we saved money there.......we also got Boston's first round pick, which we used to take Randy Foye and then moved for Brandon Roy.

Don't get me wrong, I've liked Marion's game since he was in Phoenix...but I really like Travis Outlaw - the report that teammates like Roy and Aldridge approached management about not trading him........I don't know, I just like what he brings to the court.

Because LaFrentz is in his final year of his contract

Why would Portland want to comitt another three years to another guy who will just take up a roster spot?

You're right, I did hear something about Roy and Aldridge clashing at first, and Travis mended things.

Good point.
