I would have done the same thing. Shame on Derek Fisher for using his daughter's eye condition as a way of getting out of Utah.
The way in which he left was shady. I don't have a problem with him taking care of his daughter. They had better facilities for her care in Memphis. If he came back as a Grizzly instead of a Laker I would've cheered for him. He just wanted to play for the Lakers, if I understand correctly his daughter doesn't actually get treatment in LA.
I wish more arenas would boo star players. Make it feel like the game actually means something. Make it personal. Make it dramatic. Maybe even get in his head. That's why the Raptors-Nets OT game is still the best this year -- the Toronto faithful were mercilessly booing Vince every time he touched the ball and he just went ahead and did his thing.
