Default Re: When will Gilbert Arena make a return?

It's pretty much vital for him to get his minutes in. Wiz fans are thinking he should be extremely cautious, but sooner or later they were gonna have to know whether or not he could handle the NBA grind after being out for the better part of 2 seasons. And what better time to do it than when the games don't really matter anymore and there's no expectations on the team.

He'll be ready and back in great shape.

Gilbert Arenas informed me that he is working out in Orlando this week and has tickets to attend all three NBA Finals games at Amway Arena -- that is, if three games are needed. Arenas has spent a lot of time in Florida this offseason, and from what I hear, he has been working hard to get in shape for the upcoming season. I heard that he is in excellent shape and has already lost 20 pounds in the past month or so. Two days after the Wizards hired Flip Saunders as coach, Arenas held an individual workout with him. The workout was part bonding exercise and part showing the new coach what he's got.

This is encouraging, but what I'm actually worried about is that he had 20 pounds to lose. Gil's obviously a workaholic, but he seems to have a natural inclination to get fat, and he's even mentioned having trouble losing weight on his blog, plus it's been mentioned in, like, rumors and stuff in the Wizards Insider blog.

yeah i really do...man we have a gaping hole at the C position...our biggest weakness is rebounding/toughness/ability to bang. we somehow trade up like one or two picks cause i don't think hasheem will slide to number 5...he would help our team tremendously. you got a legit seven footer thats won defensive of the year awards twice and can rebound and block shots. hes the missing link in my opinion or any center like him.
