Default How high does Philly rise?

Currently: 7th in the East. 3 games back of the 4th spot (Hawks), 2 games back of the 5th and 6th spots (Miami and Detroit). They are 2 1/2 games ahead of the 8th spot (Milwaukee).

Season Series vs. those teams:
1-1 vs. Atlanta
1-0 vs. Detroit
0-1 vs. Miami
2-0 vs. Milwaukee

Things to consider: Philly is 14-8 since DiLeo took over (5-1 with the DiLeo/Brand combo). They are 10-2 in their last 12 games. Their next 6 games are at home.

Improved play: Andre Iguodala is averaging 22.4 ppg/5.8 apg/5.7 rpg/2.0 spg while shooting 54% from 2 and 45% from 3 in January. His #s in the first month were 13.3 ppg/6.5 rpg/5.1 apg/1.6 spg shooting 41% from 2 and 29% from 3.

Injuries: Samuel Dalembert rolled his ankle in tonight's game vs. Washington and didn't return. Most likely a sprain. Sixers should offer him a pay raise just to stay injured.

Brand has played 4 games since coming back, all off the bench. Averages of 20 mpg/7 ppg/4 rpg/3.3 bpg and shooting 59%. Has done well in just trying to "fit in".

My input: I'm fairly certain that we'll pass either Miami or Detroit. Playing Orlando in the first round would be hard to watch though. Sixers need to at least get to the 5th spot.

I would say they finish 6th with a shot at 5th.

i think they'll finish 6th or 7th. Detroit is slipping and the Sixers may jump them.

i have a HUGE respect for the D the new coach has them playing. they really stuck it to us (portland) and the spurs. if they can keep on rolling with brand back, and figure out how to integrate him and become a team who can run OR play in the half court, they are going to be a nightmare match up in the first roud of the playoffs... with a chance to break out, imo.

i'm not expecting them to upset someone, but i think there's an outside chance that could happen, and whoever has to play against them in the first round is going to come out of that series VERY tired. i think they'll win at least one, and probably two games in the first round this year if brand meshes well with the new style.

i'll have to look at the standings and their schedule before i can really try to guess at where they'll wind up being seeded in the playoffs, though.

*Prays Philly beats New Jersey Tomorrow*

Detroit's been playing like ass lately, I STILL don't understand how Miami's record is so good, and Philly's been playing tough basketball lately. I could see Philadelphia going as 4th, honestly. Miami's gonna come down to Earth, and Detroit is still a work in progress.

EDIT: Scratch that, as high as 5th. I forgot about Atlanta.

4th or 5th doesn't make too much of a difference with me. Atlanta is good, but they're beatable even if they have home court. (I'm not saying we're better so don't attack me, just saying they're beatable).

If we can't reach the 5th spot, I want to be whatever seed doesn't play Orlando. My head hurts every time we play them. Threes from every spot on the floor. Cleveland's a better team than them, but they're a matchup nightmare for Philly.

we get at least 6th, most likely 5th, maybe 4th. As for Atlanta v Philly, i think Philly is better. If they were to play in a series, Philly would win. Atlanta hasn't been playing as well lately, i know they haven't had Horford. They are a good team, but i don't think they are the 4th seed hands down in the east by any means.

sixers have major struggles against the magic because of their perimeter/3 point shooting. we have no shot against them in a 7 game series. we would be better off playing the cavs or boston.

it was 1-3 i believe. But ya we have trouble defending all their shooters, and EB would get taken out of his comfort zone a bit. But to say I'd rather play Cleveland or Boston...idk about that.

Well if they keep on rolling I'm sure they'd be the low seed nobody wants to face. Possibly can pull a G-State.

yeah i mean if we play the way i think we can play we could compete as a 6 seed to beat one of the big 3. But if we are 7 or 8 idk it'd probably be a small chance of that
