The next Ben Wallace. Championship role right there. Anyone would want Thabeet on their team. Im just going to say work on rebounding (around 13-14 rpbg in the NBA) he should be a great player

I actually see him being better then Greg Oden. He is gonna be a better defender...

I doubt it. Greg Oden has better hands and touch than Hasheem Thabeet.

Plays nothing like Ben. Hasheem is rather stiff, and lacks the balance, lateral quickness, and upper body strength that made Ben effective. If there wasn't a defensive 3 seconds rule, I would pencil him in for a couple DPOYs, but times have changed, and big stiffs like him are not the difference makers that they once were. Give me Steven Hill or Kyle Davis all day, every day.

Hasheem " the Dream" Thabeet.

No. 1 Connecticut beats Seton Hall 62-54

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) Hasheem Thabeet had career-highs of 25 points and 20 rebounds and just missed his second triple-double in two weeks with nine blocks, helping No. 1 Connecticut win its 13th straight game, 62-54 over Seton Hall on Saturday.

The 7-foot-3 Thabeet was 10-for-13 from the field and dominated again inside for the Huskies (24-1, 12-1 Big East), who matched the 1995-96 team for the best start in school history.

I like thabeet a lot and think he could be very good, not sure on greatness or anything.

One thing I do like a lot and think he should be commended on is using college to actually improve and get ready for the league- he seems to be really excelling and controlling games- learned how to play, couldve been drafted last year or maybe 2 but is now a draft ready prospect- good for him on being smart, he will do better next year than wouldve this or last in the nba- I hope aminu, derozen, daye and some others follow his lead and stay until really ready

I likw him in regards to being a really good role player. But he wont be a star in the league. He wont be that one guy that you build around. But he could anchor your defense. He is worth a top 5 pick. Just because good centers are so hard to find these days.

Ive watched every one of his college games during the last 3 years.
Here is the breakdown:
He has bad (massive)hands, but the have improved.
He has really nice touch on his jump shot and foul shot
He is extremely long. Sometimes this actually hurts him on offense when he goes up in traffic because he ends up being too far under the basket. It also helps him block shots. He rarely ever goaltends.
He is a very good rebounder even though his balance still kind of sucks.
He gets off his feet quicker than any 7 ft plus player that i have ever seen, though he lacks lateral quickness.
He literally puts fear in players, which wont be as easy as it is in the nba, but he will get a lot of blocks no matter what.
He does a good job of not fouling.
He is developing a toughness and cockiness to his game which is impressive.

He will be a good NBA player.

Watch DeJuan Blair take it to Thabeet tonight. It's going to be fun game.

Blair almost broke Thabeet's damn arm.

Thabeet went for a rebound over the shoulder of Blair. Blair caught the ball with Thabeet's arrm over his shoulder and his hand under the ball. Blair then pulled the ball down to his chest and almost snapped Thabeet's arm, whilst completely lifting Thabeet over his back.

Looked nasty.

I still see a Marcus Camby type of career for him. 11pts, 10reb, 2.5blks, and just being a solid player that can stay on the court for more than short spurts. I know those numbers don't look impressive, and people post numbers like that and call him "decent," but I actually think he will be worth a top 5 pick. If my team needs a center, he is my top choice in this draft. Camby went 2nd and no one considers him a bust, and I think Thabeet will be a good center for a lot of years.

And that was a dirty takedown by Blair. I like Blair and how he plays, but he let go of the ball and pulled his arm to flip him over. I know Thabeet went over the back and that was a foul, but that was cheap of Blair.
