Default 10 Years from now will we still be talking about the leagacy of Jordan if...

Kobe manages to get 2 or more rings between 2012 and 2018

Lebron manages to get 5 more rings between 2012 and 2022?

If either one of those things happen in the next ten years or both, will we then see highlights of Kobe's or Lebron's legacy on NBATV or ESPN Classic since both or one of them tied or past Jordan for the number of rings? To me if Kobe wins 2 or 3 rings that will put Jordan in the OLD history category and Kobe would then be in the New History category since he played more after 2000 and won more championships.

What do you think?

Jordan and basketball is the perfect combination in a sentence. GOAT is never forgotten.

So Kobe won't be the GOAT time if he retires with 8 rings?

Nope. Other Athletes have surpassed Babe Ruth, Ali, and Pele in their respective sporting achievements, and yet these 3 still get the "GOAT" labels. Besides, even with more Titles, KB's still coming up short on the scoring titles, MVPs and efficiency/ performance ratings across the board.

Now that he has a current top 3 Player on his team, any more potential rings get diminished right along with the "Shaq" rings.

If Lebron can improve his basketball game to the point where he is better than Prime Jordan, then that means that Lebron is better than Prime Jordan. It's pretty simple really.

I doubt it will happen though. He's 27 right now and will be 28 in December, and most ppl don't all of a sudden make a crazy improvement in their game when they are 28.

Jordan's career was too ****in' perfect. Even when he was failing with shitty teams he put up outrageous numbers almost every time out. There's too much clutter and terrible moments for Kobe or Lebron to really compare to him on career arc and not enough time to match all of his accomplishments. On top of it and really firstly, he was simply a better basketball player.

I really can't see the media still talking about Jordan in 2022 if Kobe and Lebron ties him or pass him in titles

It will be a new time. Jordan will be the 2012 version of Bill Russell in 2022

Nah, there's tons and tons of watchable films and games of Jordan's available for convenient viewing. Nobody starting from Bird and Magic on will be disrespected like that without getting laughed out of a joint. You have to really not know shit about basketball to hate on their game's that is right there for you.

can we stop with the what if kobe threads? This is like the 10th today. Lets wait until he wins another title at least and is the most important player on that squad.

It is impossible for Bryant to equal Jordan's legacy, he's in his 30s with 1 MVP. But there's nothing wrong with being the 2nd or third greatest SG ever.

James has a chance to match the MVPs, no shot at the scoring crowns, small shot at the rings.
