Michelle Splitter, a promising women's basketball player in Brazil, died of leukemia. She was 19.
She underwent a bone marrow transplant in January and died Monday night in Campinas, the Brazilian basketball federation said. She was initially diagnosed with leukemia in 2004, and returned to the game after treatment. The disease returned last March.
Splitter, a center, made Brazil's senior team for a series of exhibition games at the beginning of last year.
She was sister of basketball player Tiago Splitter, who was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in 2007.
ok... and most of us care because? Sure, it is a tragedy and everything, but asking people to care simply because it is a famous player's sister is a stretch. People die all over the world every day. I don't see everyone making threads for each death and saying RIP like fools.
this board has the maturity level of a 1st grade class. What is the point of making posts about peopel dying who are only remotely related to the NBA? you know what people are going to post, its goign to be rude and crass and stupid. its an invitation for stupid people to post rude things.
