Damn. i dont remember a year where so many extremely important players have been hurt for long stretches of time.

the basketball gods just bit Al in the ass for not repping Mike Miller after the West flagrant.

Absolutely not. Beyond the fact that they're a bad team so don't need to do that, de-emphasizing the importance of winning is a bad idea, especially when you have young players who you want to encourage to be competitive and play hard. The lottery also hurts tankers, and the vast majority of the time the top player in a draft class isn't the first pick. Granger may have been the best player in his class and what was he, something like the 16th pick? Play hard and pick wisely, that's how you build a team.

I hope they don't start tanking, but they might. If they don't, they NEED to make a move. A 6'9 Kevin Love at C would not work out.

I have a feeling that it will be Kevin at C, and Smith at Pf.

Maybe we can get in on Amare lol.

What other bigs are available?

Spoken like a true victim of the Duncan and Oden/Durant sweepstakes. At least that #5 pick did you get you Ray-ray.

My experience as a Cs fan has taught me. Two years ago the Cs really were not tanking. Yes, everyone knew that losing was better for the draft positioning, but Pierce was legitimately hurt. Doc kept the team playing hard, so Big Al (ironic that I bring him up here) had good stats that made him more attractive, as well as Gomes and West looking valuable. Trading them and others along with #5 got the team two All-Stars. If they had played like **** those trades may not go down. Making Rondo, Perkins and Powe play hard also paid dividends down the line. Going back in time to the days of Pitino when the team tanked, they ended up with a young Billups who was expected to be the saviour of a bunch of guys that had grown comfortable with losing. If they had played hard back then at least Billups would have been coming into a positive atmosphere, and thus developed quicker here...of course, Pitino still screwed up trading him, but if the guys that were here before had been playing hard they might have been more like the leaders a young guy like Billups was would have needed to be around.

There goes our season, like we had much to hope for this year anyway.

Good luck, Big AL. I hope that you are able to come back strong next season. I hope that you have a speed and healthy recovery.

**For Minnesota to get all four first-round picks in 2009, the protection circumstances must go through in each case: Minnesota finishes in the league's bottom 10 teams; Miami finishes outside of the league's bottom 10 teams; Boston finishes outside of the league's bottom three teams; Utah finishes among the league's top eight teams. For Minnesota to get no picks, the exact opposite would need to happen.

How is he injury prone by tearing his ACL??? The term "injury-prone" gets thrown around way too much in ISH, unless said player is on your own team then he's a man of steel.

While I don't think they'll make a big trade, they definately should.

How about Miller, McCants and one of our 1st rounders for Jefferson.
