I actually understand the case for Steve Nash. The problem I have with him winning the MVP is that he doesn't play defense. Kobe is just as important to the Lakers as Steve Nash is to the Suns, and Kobe plays defense.

The MVP will be a perimeter player, since the rules favor guard play. Kobe, Lebron, Wade are my favorites right now. Guys like AI and Pierce would be in the picture, but their teams aren't good.

When Nash is out they have a chitty record, even with Amare in the lineup. Something to consider. Which is why its a close tie between Kobe and Nash. No Nash and just Amare and Suns still under 500. That's a huge statemet.

I think Kobe shoulda won. He has a team of Lamar odom, borderline bench players, and a bunch of useless junk. if Lakers make playoffs this year Kobe should be top 3 pick easily.

The Media hates Kobe. It's no secret that this issue is probably all racism.

The rule of MVP isnt the player with most wins but u have to be over the .500 mark

Lakers were 8 games over that and Kobe played in 80 games averaging 35.4 and making guys like kwame and lamar better.

And the thing is, An MVP is someone who is the most valuable...I have seen other guys like Nash...plenty of them.

But noone has an unstoppable jumper, noone Has the leadership skills like Kobe does.

Kobe should have won last year. and here is another thing to think about

WHAT MORE COULD A PLAYER HAVE DONE TO WIN MVP??????????

WELL THAT IS SURE . . LAST YEAR THEY STOLE THE M.V.P TO KOBEY BRYANT. HE BROKE ALL RECORDS IN ONE SEASON. HE SHOOT THE BEST NUMBERS IN THE LEAGUE. HE DRIVE HIS TEAM TO THE PLAYOFF.

THE WAS UNSTOPPABLE. THE NAME "MR. 81" It SAYS IT ALL.

THIS YEAR IS GOING TO BE BETTER. HE CAN A LITTLE HELP. FROM THE PERIMETER LINE.

M. V. P. = KOBEY BRYANT

I still don't know how it was leaked before it was officially announced that Nask won the MVP before everyone officially found out. I say set up.

I agree with this completely. I honestly think he had a better year than Nash. I don't know what the heck he could do to improve the team. Lets face it, they were one win away from having a better season than Phoenix in the playoffs. It was that close.

Anyway, I don't think Kobe will get the MVP for the reasons above.

well when it was time 2 talk about mvps most of the commentators said nash so it wasn't really a surprise 2 me, I think Tolbert said Kobe 4 all the reasons we think he shoulda won it, of course walton said nash but overall it wasn't a situation where everybody thought kobe was the favorite, n nash ends up winnin....

what makes me mad is a couple of punk asses that say "NOT EVEN CLOSE...NASH BY FAR"

U gotta tell me this whole thing was between nash and Kobe.

I picked nowitzki as the runner up and Kobe number 1.

1. Kobe
2. Dirk
3. Nash
4. Billups
5. Kobe

exactly......mvp is not about scoring ...thats why they gave kobe the scoring titled..and that all he deserved n all fairness.... i hate kobe bryant but!! i acknowledge that he is a great scorer and should be..if he isnt respected in the league..... Kobe plays great...but isnt a Great player ..in my view...when the game is on the line i want the ball in kobe's hand really....to tell u the truth thats jus how much respect i have for him....
now with nash winning the mvp i feel as if thier team still was way better.... so he shouldnt of won it.. lets not forget this mvp voting is all fans favourites.... to me i think guys like elton brand...(who carried his team to the playoffs for the first time n how many yrs???) lol he had good numbers and their record wasnt even far off from the suns.... that guy deserved it...he was 2nd i think in block shots this yr.. averg. countless double doubles... 20+ppg....and he carried his team pas the first round... kobe is a valuble player but not the MOST..... scoring 81 points doesnt automatically make u a shew in for that award how ever it was very impressive.....
but this yr is going to be great... because u have kobe coming bac ever so strong..and the onli thing he hasnt won is a finals mvp and a seasons mvp... shaq super seeded him n those categories....and kobe wants it bad....
guys like lebron will make a strong impression d-wayde...ron artest ..his name will be in there and even mike bibby..... elton brand name will be up there...dirk... nash again.... and i want u guys to watch out for KG he has alot to prove so i kno he will make his team better..also yoa and mcgrady...all of these guys are strong candidates for the MVP...but my guess it will be either Kobe Ron nash again...and lebron.... all depending if they play the way they played later half of the season....
