Default Daequan Cook wins the 2009 3-PT contest!

Congratulations!

Nobody except for us Heat fans probably believed he could do it. He won both rounds for us and represented the Heat well.

Good luck to Wade following up with Allstar MVP tommorow to close out the weekend.

Random question here... how come Cook went to the outside of the rack every time? He buried himself deep in the corner on the last rack. I watch a lot of HEAT games (D-Wade is my favorite player), and I never noticed Cook having a preferance for a corner shot. Did it suprise you to see Cook use this strategy?

Just ask Kenny Smith! Daequan did great, and lived up to the faith I had in him. Most importantly though, already he's shown that he has a lot more to his game than our previous 3point champ.

Yeah, it was a little peculiar. I haven't noticed any particular preference Cook would have on the floor and so far this season he's been a quick catch and shoot guy no matter where he is on the floor. If anything I'd say he's a corner pocket guy with Chalmers liking the top of the key.

When I saw that the first thing that came to my mind is he probably practiced pulling the ball off the rack from his right side, not his left. So that probably threw him off a little. But he still came through with the best performances anyway.

Even though its a day late, props to Daequan ... I knew he'd win it. Everyone else for the most part was pretty overrated w/ the exception of Kapono in my opinion.
