the most important thing is for marcus and jay to get a lot of scrimmage time, learn the system and get comfortable with their teammates. almost certainly one of them will show that they have mastered that faster than the other and that will be the one who will get the ongoing backup PG time. and that's not a bad thing for the 'loser'- it means he will get more of what he needs, which is more scrimmage time.
Jay is a good guard. Playing for the Bulls him and Jamal Crawford were good together. I think if he had not injured himself, him and Kirk would be the PG"s on the Buuls now. But Pax might have traded him (Jay).
having a Kevin Garnett would propel this team into instant contender.
but Collins, Krstic, Robinson play a good tag team and although they don't put up a stellar number of points, they make due and play hard team defense.
Boone should bolster the defense.
the main production comes from the BIG three and the bench.
Nets had very good defense from trapping and help defense (as reflected in their 91PPG allowed) but their 3 point defense was suspect (because they pack the lanes more often)
however, the bench was horrible.
when Lamond Murray is your first option off the bench you konw you are in trouble.
Who do you guys think will backup Jefferson? Nachbar supposedly averaged 9 or 10 points with Slovenia's team in the offseason. Can Wright handle the 3 spot over nachbar?
