Default Whats the best play against a 2-3 zone defense?

Ill be coaching a team in a minor league. I want to make some offensive plays against a 2-3 zone defense. Any suggestions? please post some links about coaching for both offensive/defensive plays.

Not much of a play, but the key is to get the ball to someone in the middle of the zone, and that opens up the entire defense for pretty much anything offensively.

pass the ball around until the defense gets tired and eventually gets hit with defensive 3 seconds?

Make sure you have good 3 point shooters, and when i say good, i mean exactly that, Put someone in the middle have him kick it outside to your shooters and they MUST knock the shots down. run the play for a while and if they start closing out on the shooters let your Big man go to work in the middle. after a while they'll abandon it. The Key is to efficient shooters .

Draw attention in the middle, around the free throw line area and just have your guys rotate over. Plenty of perimeter jumpers open that way if you have a strong passer there.

Just drive and kick, keep the ball moving, have your team move without the ball more.

If your players are constantly moving, it'll demolish any zone. But that's the challenge, to have your players constantly moving.

Drills that can help are:

Just have them pass the ball without the ball ever touching the floor. That teaches them to keep moving and hopefully break bad habits such as over dribbling, it also gets the players used to constant movement.

It really pissses me off, when I see players make lazy cuts, or move lazily. I'd have them do sprints everytime they just walk through the play. Naw... have them run the play full speed every time. Bad practice habits translate on the court. You want them to be zooming when they run the offense.

Just basics man... basic fundamentals. Screens, pick and rolls, spreading out the court to create spacing, consistency etc.etc.

Copy the triangle and its emphasis on spacing and player movement. When ran properly, its a beauty to watch. The ball should move at "least" 3 times on every possession.

Attacking the middle of the defense is key. While attacking the foul line is effective, attacking the baseline short corners is my personal preferred option.

The short corner greatly distorts the defense, forcing the defensive center to defend ball AND cutters into his zone, forces ballside forward to either deny pass back to perimeter or try to dig ball out short corner, drags the weakside forward into the lane to help center, and forces the guards to cover the entire perimeter and the foul line. Once the ball enters the short corner there will be an open wing jumper or the foul line; with the foul line also having the option of flashing to the rim.

Now while I did mention the wing jumpers don't lose focus of how you are actually beating the defense, inside (short corner/foul line) - out (wing/top of key). Even on those kick outs to the shooters on the outside your players should pump fake and drive the ball when ever possible.
