if they get the Hayesworth that played this year, it is a good signing. getting a dominant player who plays the line of scrimmage is always a good thing, doesnt matter what your other needs are.

First off you're making him one of the highest paid players in the league. Secondly you are not only breaking the bank on him but he is accounting for almost 1/6th of your entire cap. He hasn't played 16 games since his rookie season (7 years). He has a history of being unmotivated. He was bust worthy during his first 5 years. The only times he really played well were the past two seasons and he was franchised both years playing for a contract. This has bad move written all over it.

so suddenly you are Lombardi...
the game is won at the line...
we all know that...
the Skins giving Haynes $100 Mill Peyton cash is stupid....

thats why my caveat was that they get the Haynesworth that showed up this year.
Yeah, even if it's the same Haynesworth, then it's still not worth it. Our DL has sucked for years, yet we've managed a top 10 defense 7 of the past 9 years while we haven't had a top 10 offense during those 9 years. We need help on O and in the secondary. Our D has done fine without much of a DL, so why change that and break the bank on a player who may become lazy after he gets the big contract? I hear Taylor is going to play another year and isn't willing to renegotiate his contract so he's going to count like 8-9 mil. Then, we just resigned Hall and it says he's going to be one of the highest paid CBs...
Well, it looks like 5 other teams are willing to pony up the loot for Haynesworth, so we might not get him.

are you saying this because of the 6 year $54 million Hall deal which makes it look as though Haynesworth isn't going to Washington?
