Read those.

What is this list supposed to be? The most popular works in literature or the best?

Significantly missing is Cry the Beloved Country by Alan Patton, in my opinion the greatest novel of all time. Of these I read my favorites were The Count of Monte Cristo, followed by Catch22

I loved Dune, but it's also one of those books I just can't read again. The story is great, but the way it's written somehow just doesn't suck you in.

There is some weird duplication in that list, like having 'the complete works of Shakespeare' but then also listing 'Hamlet', or the same with 'The Chronicles of Narnia' and 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe'.

Something like this:

I have probably read up to a third of this list, and I know the plots and characters of 3/4 through movies and/or word of mouth.

Oh and that list has a lot of crappy books on it, like Harry Potter and The Bible.

What a fantastically stupid thing to say.

I've still got a lot of that list to work through, but I've made a decent dent so far. Let's see:

Lord of the Rings
Harry Potter
1984
Catch 22
The Hobbit
Catcher in the Rye (well, I've got about 30 pages left)
The Great Gatsby
Grapes of Wrath
Alice in Wonderland (although I've been meaning to give it another read)

I've still got a lot of that list to work through, but I've made a decent dent so far. Let's see:

Lord of the Rings
Harry Potter
1984
Catch 22
The Hobbit
Catcher in the Rye (well, I've got about 30 pages left)
The Great Gatsby
Grapes of Wrath
Alice in Wonderland (although I've been meaning to give it another read)
Chronicles of Narnia / Lion, Witch, Wardrobe
Animal Farm
The Da Vinci Code
Lord of the Flies
Life of Pi
About 15 pages of Dune
Of Mice and Men
Lolita
Charlotte's Web
The Five People You Meet in Heaven
The Little Prince
Have you read the book moron? No I doubt it, but get with the times and read the greatest novel of the past 60 years and possibly ever.

Yeah, I have actually, although it was a good 5-6 years ago. Myy calling you stupid has nothing to do with the book (great as I remember it), and everything to do with the rest of your sentence. Cut it out with the superlatives already.
