This. He actually didn't play well towards the end of last year and they'd have re-signed because he really wanted to remain an Eagle had they thought they couldn't upgrade at LT.

Where is Andre Smith going to go? Dude has character red flags but he's a mammoth.

I'd be happy with Knowshon Moreno in the first round. Also Kenny Britt WR. Knowing Eagles will draft a OT with 1 of the 2 picks. I'm unsure who that could be that late. Ebon Britton is projected to be the best OT available in the 20's range. Have no clue on the guy. Gotta read up.

I'm on the Hakeem Nicks bandwagon.

But yes OT, RB, WR, or Pettigrew in no order need to be addressed in the first 4 rounds.

Has any1 watched Pettigrew a lot?

Yeah Hakeem Nicks has a fan following it seems. My buddy wants the Eagles to McNAB him. I'd draft him just so a team like the Giants couldnt have a replacement for Plaxico. lol

Pettigrew? Eh, I've watched him a couple games. Didnt leave a big impression given the fact he wasnt used much in the offense. Just an exta lineman with the ability to catch. Alge Crumpler is who he reminds me of if I had to make a comparison to give you an idea.

Yeah I admit I haven't watched him, a lot of people have us drafting him. I did look at his numbers @ Oklahoma State and they look seriously unimpressive coupled with the slow 40 time. Hoping we take the best O-lineman available or RB (in that order). That's where the best value seems to be at least. I'd be very happy if we maybe traded up a little bit to grab a elite tackle prospect and took one of the better RB's available at 28 (Moreno or Wells). If neither guy is available you can always trade up to mid/early second round and grab McCoy.

Bo Scaife would have looked great in Eagles green.

^Things like this happen quite often. i.e. allowing Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor to walk, Hugh Douglas, Trotter, etc. We are really good at identifying when a player is on the decline and are also really good at paying players accordingly based on their value.

I agree with them identifying who is on the decline. Knowing when the time is the right time to let go, move on and go young. And it has been working. Front office is one of the best but I still have me issues with things. They really made up for the mess when they neglected special teams return game. I'm hoping they are smart enough to know they also neglected the FB position and will address that the same way they did when adding Demps/Jackson. Lil things like that tick me off.

But Eagles have a knack for not only compiling picks but getting the most out of them. Think you made a post about it breaking it down. From managing the cap to building with the draft they've done a good job. Just for me the job could have been great but I'll take the good over bad, average.

Lookin forward to see what the Eagles do this draft. They have the picks to add some talent.

Yeah it is strange how they just neglected KR/PR and FB since like Jon Ritchie and Brian Mitchell. If I were them and I had a surplus of picks I'd spend one of their 4 fifth rounders on another return specialist. I don't know if I feel comfortable having Peanut returning punts but he proved a lot of people wrong staying healthy the entire season. Regardless I think it comes down to roster spots. With DeSean returning punts he essentially allows them to have more depth elsewhere.

It will be interesting to see what happens at linebacker. Gocong who looked promising at times is your SAM Linebacker (he's still figuring out the nuances of the position). Stewart Bradley is your MIKE and one of the best young linebackers in the league (I expect a pro bowl). However I'm not sure if they plan on having Akeem Jordan or Omar Gaither start @ WILL. Gaither started the season as the WILL and was replaced by Jordan. I wasn't terribly impressed with either. They both do a solid job but neither is a playmaker. Maybe they'll surprise us in the draft if a prospect falls that they like.

I'm very happy with safety. I think we'll have one of the best young pairs of safeties in the league. Sean and Quintin will complement each other nicely. I expect our secondaries to be one of the best in the league (pretty standard with Jim Johnson). I was excited by Chris Clemons as he really started to play well towards the end of the season and in the playoffs. Trent Cole is a beast. Bunkley should continue to grow and could potentially have a great season (I know the team is expecting big things from him, as a leader too).

I'm excited.
