Default "Chris Paul is the best guard EVER at the pick n' roll"

- Sixers coaching staff.

And when asked about John Stockton they responded with "Stockton had Karl Malone. Look who Paul is doing it with..."

Agree or disagree?

Nash was pretty flawless with the pick and pop during his MVP years. did it with 2 different bigs in Diaw and Amare.

Stockton practically invented the pick n' roll...he could make it work with just about anyone...including your mother. She'd average at least 10 a game with that dude at the point. Im JUST sayin'

Kevin Johnson and Steve Nash were damn good at the pick and roll as well. Although I do agree that David West is egregiously overrated, which is what I assume what the Sixers coach is inferring.

Those are some pretty strong words but he has got to be in the arguement based on what we have seen him do thus far. His vision is great and he can score at the rim or with the jumper. A pick and roll with him is damn near impossible to stop but I dont think I'm willing to definitively say he is the best.

Just because he had Malone does not make him worse.

What kind of argument is that? Just because he had Malone? Doesn't really make any sense. Its like saying a guy like Magic wasn't a great passer because he was surrounded with great scorers/finishers.

Seriously? Deron is EASILY the better pick + roll player between the two. Paul is the better OVERALL player, but he's not even the best in the league RIGHT NOW at the pick 'n roll, let alone EVER.

No it's not. They're not saying Stockton wasn't a great pick n' roll pg. But they're implying that Malone could have ran the pick n' roll with plenty of pg's and made them better at it. Imagine Paul in a Jerry Sloan offense

Apparently peoples memories run short, or people around here were too young to remember, but how did Chris Paul suddenly become the greatest PG ever, within just a few seasons? I mean what is this? Like his 4th season?

Better than the alltime leading assist man, and alltime leader for steals? I don't think so. Maybe if Paul keeps his play up for 12 more years.

You've gotta remember how well Stockton played and how LONG he kept it up. He never really dropped off. Sure he never scored the points Paul is, but that was never really his role. I have no doubt he could have if he needed to.
