Here are a few things Heat fans will learn to hate soon enough.
1) You don't want Luther running the point.
2) You don't want him dribbling the ball, not even one quick bounce
3) You don't want him making passes
4) You don't want to put him guarding the point guards thinking he can keep up with them.
Here are a few thins Heat fans will like about Head.
1) He can shoot, he is deadly when he is on.
2) He can make cuts and finish in traffic (as long as he doesn't have to dribble too much)
That's pretty much it. I would say not to look at his playoff averages and be disappointed. Jazz has been the only team he has played against and that was just a bad match up for him since he had so many tall players guarding him and he was taken advantage of on the other end.
It doesn't really matter either way. Even with Chalmers (currently) running the point, the ball is in Wade's hand the majority of the time. It basically just gives the Heat another perimiter shooter. I don't see it making a big difference, but it could be a positive.
Luther Head is reportedly heading to the Heat. About time, Chalmers is ok, but come playoff time won't be a factor.
Yeah hitting the big shot in, and winning a national championship at Kansas will in no way prepare him for having any kind of significant role in the playoffs come crunch time. Luther Head on the other hand....

if thats right, than those are great attributes to have playing next to Wade...hes an upgrade over Quinn if he just plays an ounce of defense.
So they've each had storied college careers, and Chalmers hit the clutch shot to allow Kansas to win the championship.
Not saying that Head didn't do his fair share in college, but to say that he's the solution to post-season PG woes, when he's really just a small SG not a PG, and when there's no reason Chalmers won't be able to show fortitude in clutch moments, is just silly.
luther isnt a terrible player. he sucked in the playoffs for houston cuz teams rarely double team in the playoffs. luther cant make his own shot or make that many against good defense in the playoffs.
in the regular season teams double a lot more and he benefits like a mofo off of it. 06-07 season he avg 2 3pts a game at 44%.
for a 3rd backup hes a good fit. or he can share the backup sg w/ someone else, take the lesser minutes. can use him for small ball. too bad he's gone, good thing he's on miami now.
hopefully he'll never have to play heavy point guard minutes.
Rockets players seem to be better when T-Mac went away. Can only imagine what Luther could've been with a team that actually had ball movement and not some guy dribbling around jacking up a three.
he's a decent cutter, if there's a good passing big on the team he can help the team w/ that, speiclaly baseline cuts. you give him a good pick he'll make that open jumper 1/3 times, no matter where its at, not many guards can do that from 3pt line.
he's not that good of a player unless he's got something up his sleeve, but he can do more than make an open 3.
his defense isnt bad too. D+ or C- would be his grade.
houston waived him cuz he hasnt proved to be a playoff performer, only a regular season performer. and waived him for other stuff but w/e. he's a baller w/ a funny last name.

luther head = tim legler trapped in a black man's body.
