Doesn't really matter to me. It's all about when motivation hits.

its been scientifically proven that aerobic exercises in the morning on an empty stomach provides maximum fat loss... something about morning being the time when your body burns the most calories for some reason.. i read it somewhere..

When you go to sleep, your body is using up all of the nutrients in your body that you have in you. So when you wake up, you will be dried up, paler, and a bit skinnier. I can tell a difference from my morning abs to my afternoon abs, this is because I have literally nothing in me in the morning.

So if you want to lose weight, running in the morning before you wake up will burn alot more fat (Because you will have no calories to use, and the body prioritizes calories first, then fat, for energy). If you do too much running though, you will end up using some of your muscles (It's miniscule really but it happens).

The general rule is workout in the morning to lose weight (Weight includes fat/muscle) and workout in the afternoon to gain muscle (You will have nutrients in you to help build muscle/work harder/etc).

i'm not sure, but i always work out during the day. something about working out before bed doesn't seem like a good idea. i figure during the day you will be still moving your muscles where as if you go to sleep they will stiffen up and won't be getting as much oxygen to them either. whether or not that is true or matters i can't say. its just how i feel.

From what I know, running late at night is fine, it should keep you awake for a bit immediatly after so if you plan on sleeping right away, try running a bit earlier

If you want to gain weight, and add to your vert... I would try to minimize your running as far down as your comfortable with.

When you run, your directly negating weight gain. Unless you can eat a lot more...

Same with vertical, most basketball players need to put on mass (in the form of muscle) for their vertical, and when your burning calories from running its hard for your body to put on muscle.

Your goals seem pretty simple. I would cut down running, do more sprints. Get a little into weight training. Bench (yes, your arms help your vert), squat, and deadlift should be the core of your weight training. Do some plyometrics (sprinting falls into that category). Maybe your already doing all of this though, but making solid gains is gonna be hard if your running all the time.

Your glycemic state is lowest in the morning. No blood sugar means your body consumes stored energy for fuel.

I'm not doubting what you are saying, but it makes me chuckle when people say "its a SCIENTIFIC FACT... blah blah". Classic Will Ferrell.
continue.
