I'm 18. I didn't get my license at 16 like you usually do. I don't even have my permit. Now, approximately how long will it take me to learn how to drive? I mean, I took Drivers Ed in school & know all the rules & stuff, but actually being behind the wheel, how long should it take to learn? I want to get my license by at least the beginning of April.
Depends if you talking about learning to drive stick or auto? If it's auto then it is so simple, only thing you gotta get past is the nervousness of going out on the road the 1st time, after a while it actually gets boring specially if you spend most of the time driving to and from work...
Auto is like 3 hrs and you get used to everything. Stick is maybe an extra 2 hours. It's really easy especially auto. It's just point and aim, you don't even have to do anything. Gas, break and turn. Its ridiculously easily.
Stick is really easy though people seemed to be put off by it. Clutch down, gas up. Gas down, clutch up. Make sure you transitions are smooth between the two and to that the clutch is down all the way. It's really not difficult.

Why don't you have a permit even? I had my permit for a while but didn't get my license until I turned 18. I don't know why I waited... I guess because I didn't have a car and one of my best friends did was more than happy to drive everywhere so I didn't really need it.
