Good point. Unfortunately I'm surrounded by dipsh!ts in the computer lab who go on WoW or are doing research papers.,
Had this been the case I'd be a bit obscure at the moment and I'd try to strike up a random conversation at a random time. Be like gts once said bring 200 twinkies or ya dead. Or Isn't Randy fine and dandy eye candy or the biggest loser I've ever met in my life was a felllow by the name of GOBB. If dude catches on I be like. Me Neither!
One of my g/f's co-workers posts here on ish, but I don't know his username, and from what I've gathered, he's a very infrequent poster.
I do occasionally post from the library here where I live. I probably would walk over to someone if I saw their browser opened up to ish and say something. No harm in that.
if i recognized some1 i'd just go and introduce myself to them unless it was a poster i didn't care for i'd probably just proceed to humiliate them and then take pictures of them right after the fact and post them here immediately.

I've got a few high school kids that I coached in middle school who post here. They can probably tell who I am, but I'm not sure who they are.
There was a weird post in the HS/College forum about a kid who was at a HS game in Connecticut where a kid tore down a backboard, and I was at the same game. I posted that, and of coarse twelve other people claimed to have been there, but I actually was.

Some friends know that I post on ISH (and frequently make fun of me for my 13,000 posts), and I got a call one day from one of them telling me that there was somebody sitting right next to her in the library surfing Insidehoops. I asked her what the username was, but it was something stupid like "ballin4life" or "i<3Kobe". lol
What if you saw someone posting on ISH?
