This season of the Simpson has been mediocre so far. All episodes other than Treehouse of Horror parodying of Peanuts and the one that ripping Apple and Steve Jobs are all less than worth watching.

That's my favorite too. Season 6 was the best. Lemon of Troy, Stone Cutters, Lisa on Ice. All classics. Homer buying a gun was also a favorite too.

How come people who haven't watched the show in years are always the ones talking about how horrible it is now? If you don't watch it anymore, then how do you know? It may not be as good as it use to be, but it hasn't gotten that bad, and the Halloween episodes still kick ass. I watched the last episodes and it wasn't that bad. It was a good deal better than Family Guy and American Dad. It seems like they don't even try anymore on Family Guy. It's just random joke, pop culture reference, gay joke, pop culture reference, random joke, etc...

I agree. Everything gets old after a while. I don't even watch the show that much, yet I managed to catch re-runs when it runs durin the day. I'm not about to bother with it on a Sunday night.

I don't even really watch Family Guy anymore because of the re-runs.

At least Family Guy hasn't been out that long. With 20 seasons of Simpsons, you'd think they could keep the shows relatively fresh when they re-run them.

It's a cartoon. What the hell do you want? Something profound? That's the whole reason I watched Family Guy in the first place was the random pop culture references. This is my life. I'm glad someone appreciates some of these things enough to remember them.

That's what drew me to the show was a random clip of Brian's Donkey turning into Battlecat in the Bachlorette episode in the first place.

I wonder if Battle Cat will be in the new He-Man movie...

I've probably watched 5 new episodes in the past 3 years. all of them have sucked. That's enough of a sample for me.

Family Guy has regressed as well, but it's still better than the Simpsons.

I don't need profundity from the Family Guy, but some of the jokes just seem like mean-spirited cheap shots at celebrities instead of being humorous, lighthearted jabs at celebrities. I don't mind the random pop culture references, but there use to be some sort of point to them. Now, it seems like they're just using them for filler.

Family Guy is in no way better than The Simpsons.

Younger kids right now love the Simpsons as it is now and can't get enough of it. This is the case with my brother who is in middle school.

However, I showed him a few boxed sets of the earlier Simpsons, and he said they were passable but found the animation too crude for his liking.

(kinda like how "new" star wars fans don't like the originals because of the inferior special effects or how gamers only care about graphics)
