Re: Better album All Eyez on Me or Life After Death?
me against the world > all the above (based on quality/song) in my opinion.
But isn't it safe to say that now, 12-13 years after they left, we can say they are equal? Like they both so above the rap industry that the differences are so minimal. It's almost like, rather than arguing between them, it's arguing with the young kids that never had the pleasure of following them when they were alive.

Co-sign. Me Against The World was...so much more real than All Eyez On Me.

What, you never heard Born Again and Duets? The albums where Pee Deedee takes the same Biggie verses over and over and adds a new (wack) beat to it and get's hip hops biggest stars to rhyme over them and at the end of the day, the same old Biggie verse winds up being hotter than the various hip hop star's newly recorded verse?
Anyway, my vote goes to Life After Death. AEOM had some absolute classics but the only difference, for me anyway, AEOM had some (not wack) less enoyable tracks. LAD was hottness from start to finish. There is no track on either disc that doesn't bang till this day. If I pop AEOM in I'm gonna skip a few tracks here and there. Pac is still my guy though.

Yeah, he pretty much wrote that ish as he went along. Just walked into the studio, wrote a few bars and just walked into the booth and recorded it. At least that's what he said in an interview.

Biggie didn't even write his $hit at all. At least thats what everyone around him says. That stuff impressed me when I was younger but now I don't see why people would brag about not trying thier hardest at thier craft. It's like Iverson not practicing.

as someone who raps i can say it's better for some emcees to freestyle their raps than write... some can't write worth a sh*t but when they freestyle it's MUCH better. i'm that type of rapper. the difference between my written raps and freestyles are like night and day; the freestyles are MUCH better. or, sometimes i'm better off 'writing' raps in my head. once i put them down on paper i hit a mental block and can't continue the rap, or the quality of the verse goes down the gutter.
