Default text message problems

so we all know how chris brown put the beat down on rihanna because of a text message. well a text message caused me my own problem last night. here are the facts... i sent two text messages to my woman:

1. at 11pm i sent one saying "im going home" from my friends house
2. at 1130pm i sent one saying "im going to bed"

nothing wrong with that, pretty simple stuff. however... this is when the messages were delivered to her phone:

1. at 1130 pm she received a text from me saying "im going to bed"
2. at 1 am she received a text from me saying "im going home"

hmmm... verizon sent her the 2nd message when i sent it, but the 1st one 2 hours late.

so this morning she is all mad at me and i dont understand why. she thought i went to bed then went out again or something, which i didnt. she was calling me a liar, etc. i had no idea why she thought that and i hate when people call me a liar when im telling the 100% truth so i yelled at her pretty good which was kinda a-hole-ish of me but o well. she then told me to look at my texts and i did, and then we saw in my outbox how i sent the text in the "going home" and "going to bed" order and we saw her inbox where she got them in the reverse order, and that explained the confusion. she felt bad for calling me a liar and i felt bad for yelling at her. damn verizon. anybody else have any text message drama?

if u have 2 messages that are unread and you go into the menu it usually gives you the most recent one that was sent to your phone.

yes, but it also says the time on the message, and the fact is that the first message i sent was delivered 2 hours after i sent it. this isnt the first time verizon has delievered a message several hours after i actually sent it.

I see. That happens to me sometimes and like you it always seems to be in a time frame that I really need it to work on time or else it turns into an issue.

That's happened to me a couple of times. I have Verizon. Send a text, and the person doesn't get it until a few hours later. One time, it took over two days for the text to send. It's only happened a handful of times, though. Not like It's an epidemic sweeping the nation.

The problem is not the service provider. The problem is the girl.

it's still in your sent messages history isnt it?

the usa sucks when it comes to textmessaging. half the country still is on cdma. sms is written for gsm, not cdma... canada switched to 100% gsm a few years ago and the usa (along with south america) is among the regions with the worst sms delivery rate.

Make up sex or GTFO.

Actually GTFO and have make up sex.

You're welcome for me putting your priorities straight. If you don't know what your priorities should be in this case, it is: 1) have make up sex 2) run to ISH and tell everyone about how ****ty Verizon is and how you almost made your girl cry because of it.

yeah, it is still in my sent messages, so the problem is now resolved and it proves the order that i sent it. however, in the short term it did cause a minor rift between us. i just dont get why my message sent so late. It says my mobile network is 1xEV. i dont know what that maens.

Very good advice. Especially since we know these 2 are getting married and we all know that sex after marriage is, well, just do what hippos suggests.

What's her network operator? And yours is 1xEV? That's cdma iirc. There's the problem. CDMA + SMS = ****ed.

Here's a list of all operators. You can checlk which uses cdma and which uses gsm.

More on compatibility for cdma and sms here:

We happen to have a lot of problems with this in the US @ my job since we often verify users through SMS.
