Marcus Williams, who seemed like he would thrive in Golden State's up-tempo system, officially was waived by the Warriors Tuesday and no, the Nets are not interested. "Not at this time, no," said Nets team pres Rod Thorn of his 2006 pick that he dealt to the Warriors in the summer. So what happened with the Warriors? Well, Williams got in Don Nelson's doghouse early over running the offense. More people escaped from Alcatraz than from Nellie's doghouse. NY Post Blog
yea he wasnt really that good, i didnt like him when he was on the nets. Everytime he shot it looked weird and i wasnt confident in him, like everytime he shot i would thinks its gonna be an airball or wayoff; which it sometimes was; he wanted to be a star and was selfish and didnt seem to be dedicated, ddoesnt have what it takes... my friend met him at the place where i met jason collins and lopez and he said marcus williams was a dick at it, he just sat around like a lazzy guy and didnt even want to do anything or talk to anyone..
And have him commit 5 turnovers in 10 minutes? No thanks. Not to mention no defensive presence whatsoever. I'd rather use Vince at the point if Devin and Keyon are unavailable.
"give the man a contract. let's see what he can do.
both the price and commitment is tiny."
we have everything to gain and nothing to lose by bringing him back, and if s. williams can take a huge leap in growing up by the d-league disaster, maybe m. williams can do it via the GS disaster.
right now is probably the only chance that thorn will ever have to try out m. williams one more time, and judging by what he said at the season-ticket holders meeting, thorn greatly regretted that things didn't work out with marcus.

There's a reason why no one wants him.
again...third string buddy...I did not say starter.... Like a CDR type role...
Douby and Williams both suck but RT likes douby more?

What's the point of having him then?
If we take him, it's a lose-lose situation. If we play him (even for a few minutes), he commits turnovers and lets the other PG score at will. If we don't play him, he causes havoc by complaining that he doesn't get PT and we waste a roster spot.
I don't think you truly understand how bad Marcus Williams is. Every second he's on the floor, he hurts the team. It's better to have no third string PG, and just play Vince at the point.
