You serious?

It's more like:

Jayson Williams
Derrick Coleman
Richard Jefferson/Vince Carter
Drazen
Jason Kidd

Dr. J, Rick Barry, etc all played for the Nets, yes. And helped yeah, but i don't believe the Nets were in Jersey nor in the NBA.

well the thread title just said "nets", not "jersey" or "NBA", so those two definitely belong in there. coleman was way too inconsistent to be on the team IMO, and was jayson williams really all that great? and the problem with kmart on the team is that his first couple seasons were pretty rookie-ish and inconsistant. he really only had two good season IIRC. two seasons is not much to call a player "all-time great" over.

Buck Williams & Sugar Ray Richardson deserve some honorable mention. And evan though he may not be on the "best" list, Daryl Dawkins is classic!

any word on if Kerry Kittles' back has healed yet?

the weirdest thing was during the summer of 04, people were crying foul over how the NEts let go of Martin and Kittles.

griping over Martin was understandable, but why Kittles? Nets brass already knew his back was giving out in one more year so they made the best of things by dumping his salary and getting a second round pick which translated into Mile Ilic.

The reason why everyone was upset about losing Kittles is just becuase everyone loved Kittles he wasn't the greatest player but there was just something about that guy that everyone seemed to love. I hope his back does Heal and he gets to come back into the NBA but I doubt hes gonna have that chance but all the luck to you Kittles.

it was hard not to root for kittles- IIRC he was the one who had major operations on both knees and who many experts thought would never be able to play pro ball again. and yet he proved them wrong, retaining most of his speed and really making the fastbreak work during those first two finals appearances. also he was still a pretty good defender and i recall when kidd had trouble guarding speedy PG's, they would stick kittles on the guy and kittles' long arms and speed would usually slow the guy waaay down.

it's a shame about his back- perhaps one of those 'compensation injuries'. good luck to you, kittles- you did a lot for us.
