I don't mind it. I don't know why they change it constantly. I can live with it, though. There are far more annoying things about that site, like stupid application requests that people send me, for example. There are very, VERY few applications on there in which I would ever consider adding, and it also annoys me that those same people have the time to send me that stuff, but never actually send me a message saying hi or what not.
I was all over that place in college. Tagging photos of people left and right, being tagged, updating it all the time, adding new people, etc. I'll update my status, but the rest of it I don't really touch that often. I'm 27, and I only noticed recently that something in my profile said something about me being 25
lol anytime anything changes in anyway in anything people like to complain. Let's look at how the process with facebook goes
1. facebook makes change #1
2. people complain and say they hate it
3. facebook makes change #2
4. people complain about change #2 and say there was nothing wrong with the way it was before (meaning they want things the way they were after change #1, which they originally said they hate)
5. facebook makes change #3
6. people say they're done with facebook forever and put up statuses like "if its not broke dont fix it" (again, saying that they liked things after change #2 but will NEVER accept change #3)
it goes on and on...people will always say "change it back", when originally they said the same thing about the "back" they're trying to get it changed back to. Like i said it takes about 2 minutes to get used to literally. You look at the page and see where the new locations of thigns are, then you go back to stalking.
Agreed that a lot of this complaining is a result of us being resistant to change, but why would you change something that is working if you aren't ADDING any functionality?
Here are my concrete complaints about the new version of facebook.
-The pages are way too busy now, there are a lot more pictures on one page which can get disorienting. Simpler = better.
-The rounded edges on pictures. Oh god that is so ugly and so annoying. You have a couple square things on the page and then a bunch of rounded edges? Nasty.
-Why the hell do status updates now have a mug of you next to them? Now you just look like some douche bag posting on your own wall. We already know who's page we're on, what's the point of plastering your photo on there AGAIN? Dumb, dumb, dumb.
That's my rant, but who am I kidding, I'll keep using it. Do feel that it's a change for the worse however.
