They don't readily come to mind do they? But if you asked who won the NCAA championship in those years it's Duke, Carolina, Carolina right off the bat. Incidentally, Carolina crushed Duke by 20 points to win the ACC tournament in 1991. Does anyone remember that? Is it a good consolation prize for the Tarheels who got to watch Duke cut down the nets 2 weeks later?

Me too. I think my point was the tournament title doesn't mean all that much any more. Carolina won it last year and yet it was considered a disappointing season because of our meltdown against Kansas in the final four. I think the last time it really played a role was when NC State had to win it in '83 to make the big tournament and then got on a hot streak all the way to the championship.

Should be a fun tournament. Carolina better hope Lawson is healthy, though.

And Duke better get some kind, or any kind of interior scoring or they may bounce out in the second round just like last year.
