Ali G banned from the white house

Sacha Baron Cohen has been barred from the White House after failing in his bid to invite Us President George W. Bush to a screening of his upcoming movie, Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan. Secret service agents turned away the English funnyman Cohen, in character as the anti-Semitic, sexist Borat Sagdiyev after failing to entice the President to view his film on Thursday. Also invited to the screening were OJ Simpson, Mel Gibson and other "American dignitaries." The stunt was timed to coincide with an official visit by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who is scheduled to meet with Bush to raise the profile of their country.

Actually it wasn't Ali G who got banned from the White House, it was Borat. Two totally different characters.

BTW, this movie is going to be nothing short of incredible!

The article says Sacha Baron Cohen, who is the comedian that plays both Borat, and Ali G, as well as the JPR like character Bruno, so I assume it's all three.

Too bad. Was really looking forward to an Ali G & Bush interview.

Well yes, Cohen plays all of them, and obviously he is the one actually receiving a slap on the wrist... but, to be technical, it was Borat who "showed up" and got "turned away" from the White House. Cohen showed up in character, and it wasn't Ali G or Bruno. So maybe, hypothetically speaking, he could have showed up as "Ali G" and raised an altogether different reaction. I think it's not impossible... of course "Ali G" isn't the one promoting a new movie, so there'd be no reason for him to show up.

An Ali G - Bush interview would definitely rock though. I could already see Bush' dumb facial expressions to Ali's questions too lol. Something tells me Bush would have all sorts of informants though, and wouldn't take Ali seriously like some other, unknowing, interviewees do.
