Look for Kobe to have a strong game. He gets pumped up against above avg defenders. Overall the Bobcats are an improved defensive teams. We should all know by now he(Kobe) loves a challenge. Leading into......

Just read on the ESPN ticker. Kobe is averging 35.5 points against Charlotte. Highest of all Laker opponents.

On the surface most fans would read this as Raja Bells sucks, Gerald Wallace is a bad defender and Charlotte as a team cannot play help team defense. They are wrong.

When true Kobe fans know...The better the defenders the more Kobe focuses in.

Defense is more about position rather than statistics.

Although there is a crazy amount of sports statisticians with their formulas. You can't measure heart, desire, hustle, bball defending iq, position and yada yada yada.

kobe is not a great defender, IMO... he's a good defender when he wants to be, but he does gamble a bit too much as we all know.

lol this is one of those ad nauseam topics. he is one of the best possession defenders, but roams too much to be ranked statistically among the best.

vlady will probably have 15 points on a decent shooting percentage and remind us what we're missing.. then in the final 5 minutes he'll commit two boneheaded plays and remind us why we're glad he's not here anymore

The thing is, we do miss Vlad. I especially miss him when I watch Vujacic or Farmar jacking up 3 pointers in every game while not hitting anything...all it does is remind me that Vlad was our best 3-point shooter and he was shooting at a very high percentage too
