Default Colangelo Interview on the Fan

http://www.fan590.com/ondemand/media...01_172344_9880

Talks NCAA, Triano, and the draft.

Interesting notes... they'd look to trade up in the draft if the right opportunity presented itself, but more inclined to trade down if it got them multiple picks in the 10-20 range.

Hopefully that means that Colangelo is planing on using the cap space on a big time free agent and using the draft to create depth.

Very very interesting.. I don't mind if we pick someone else (instead of Henderson) but the notion that trading down is in the realm of possibility means that it is indeed possible that we do get him.

I think he mentioned trading up, but sounds like he's looking at acquiring another pick in the 10-15 range. My money is that he wants either Evans or Blair, and I would love to pick up either one of them at 10-15 for more depth and young potential.

Anyways...

Let's get this thread back on track, that's why we're all here, not to fight.

Who do you guys see as potential trading partners to move either up or down in the draft?

Probably Portland lol
or maybe Memphis if they have a late pick.
I wouldn't really trade down unless we are filling in a team necessity though like a scoring 2-3. The lottery pick could help us a lot with our depth and would strengthen our team a whole bunch.

Love to see him get a second pick in the mid first round and nab point guard Jonny Flynn from Syracuse. This guy is amazing and carried the Orange on his back all season. Heart of a lion. We would be set at point guard even if Jose went down next year. Otherwise anytime you need someone to penetrate into the paint, just give the ball to Jonny. Flat out knows how to score and a treat to watch. Also knows how to get to the line. He may have limitations with his size but his athleticism and presence will make up for that. Nothing seems to rattle the kid. He has the potential to surprise alot of people.

Maybe Indiana's 10th for the 3 million and our second rounder?

They need the money and still get a pick in return..

If we get a pick in the second half of the first round I really hope the Raptors have a look at;

Teague
Evans
Blair
Flynn

All will be great mid-late first round picks.

I think 3 million is buying a 20+ pick at best. Indiana needs talent and a top 10 talent could go a long way in generating wins+revenue, much more than the 3 mill.

So take Indiana for instance.

What to we need to do to pry away their 10th overall pick?

Is there no way that they move it?

Just for conversations sake...

Kapono
2010 2nd Round Pick
$3M

for

2009 First Round Pick
(Maybe contract fillers?)

If that was the case I would do it in a second. Minus the contract fillers if possible.

Im thinking maybe Delfino and around 2million could pull the trade off.

I'd do it in a second too, Toni. But I think the trade is biased in our favor.
