Manny Ramirez is already yearning for the old days -- of Cleveland.
Ramirez, who early last month signed a two-year, $45 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, says a return to the Cleveland Indians before retirement would be ideal.
"I would like to play for Cleveland one more time, to go back where I started," Ramirez told USA Today. "I have so many good memories there, why not?
"I think to go back where you started is everyone's dream."
According to USA Today, Ramirez talked to Chicago White Sox designated hitter Jim Thome this spring about an eventual return to Cleveland, telling his Indians teammate from 1993 to 2000 that if they were free agents after this season they should consider a reunion.
"Manny was very sincere when he brought that up to me," Thome said, according to the newspaper. "Manny was saying how special that would be for us to both go back together. He was very passionate. Baseball's such a weird thing. You never know what's going to happen."
"Me and Thome back in Cleveland?" Ramirez asked, according to the report. "That would be sweet.
"I love L.A. I really do. But the way the city responded to me, it reminded me a lot of how it was in Cleveland."
Nice way to throw the Dodgers under the bus Manny. F*ckin moron.
"I love L.A. I really do. But the way the city responded to me, it reminded me a lot of how it was in Cleveland."
So he's playing for a city that reminds him of the original city he grew to love, except better weather, more nightlife, and better payroll? Something is wrong with this picture.
Sooner or later, Manny will have to start DH-ing for somebody. I have never felt his outfield defense was as horrendous as people make it out to be, but he will be 38 next year. However, Cleveland has their current DH Travis Hafner locked up into a bad contract. Grady Sizemore can cover a ton of room in centerfield, so I guess it could work. They need another big bat, and have been below league average production wise in left field for a few years now (unless I'm forgetting someone).
Anyone whos not tired of Manny yet is lacking a functional brain
Read the article and Manny's comments. They are simple. I want to go back where I started my career and end it there thus retiring. He then talked to Jim Thome about the possibility of them both doing that and how cool it would be to finish where both started. Whether it happens is anyones guess.
The guys annoying and should just STFU. Especially when the years just a week old and the team was generous to give him a 2 yr 55 million dollar contract.

Mannys just a dumbass.
actually you are a dumbass if you can't understand what Manny was talking about.
It is NOT bad at all and Manny is NOT 'at it again.'
IF the fucking Dodgers were so concerned about his future they would have offered him more than one year.
ISH posters can be dumb as shit sometimes.
This is a non-story only interesting because it is Manny.
