I hope you mean what's so exciting about it for us as fans as opposed to what about it would be exciting being a backup QB for the Green Bay Packers.

I must say this, I don't think he can be any worst then Ken Dorsey. Ken Dorsey is the only QB that I've ever seen in the Pros that I've said to myself "I think I can throw farther then him."

Paulus is probably my least favorite athlete ever. Something about him just makes me feel violent and I can't say an athlete has ever made me feel like that in the past.

I actually think that he could play in the NBA. He is a great defender and wont give you any drama coming off the bench.JK

Default Re: Green Bay Packers looking to sign Duke point guard Greg Paulus?

Paulus was apparently a good student at Duke. He will probably get a good job within the next couple of years. Professional sports won't be his thing. If the Packers want to work out someone who is not a football player (which teams often do), they should try a track and field athlete or at least someone who has some sort of athleticism.

Chad Hutchinson is probably the more likely resemblence, because I don't think he played at all after HS either until he picked up with the Cowboys.

But Hensen, Hutchinsen, and the few others I can think of who had an extended hiatus (Cassell, or Chris Weinke who played baseball into his 20s before coming back to FSU), those are all big guys on top of that. Those guys are at least pro style QBs. Paulus at 6-1, 180 would have to be more like Jeff Garcia, or Charlie Ward. And those guys weren't highly regarded as pro prospects even with an accomplished college track record.

Iverson was a top notch HS quarterback and is probably similar physically to Paulus, and no one would have imagined him coming out and playing NFL quarterback after Georgetown. Or Ronald Curry, who was an all american high school quarterback, and he even had a college resume, and he was moved to reciever.

Paulus was reportedly at UM's spring practice and has met with Rich Rod. Man we could use a QB. It will be funny to see what happens.

You have 4 years of eligibility per sport. So he could enroll as a graduate student at Michigan and play football.
