There's no defense for what Ray Allen did. None.
I agree, even my unnatural hatred for Anderson cannot blind me to this truth. Ray Allen was lucky to get only one game, and the fact Anderson got T'd up for it speaks volumes about the ineptness of NBA officiating. With that said, F Anderson Verajo, I hope his baby maker is broke so the world isn't subjected to some floppin' ass little V-jay-j's

In soccer that move is known as the "Brazilian death roll". They have made it into an artform
Re: NBA suspends Ray Allen one game for elbowing Anderson Varejao
That wasn't intentional.
Players would usually push first, rather than start throwing a punch (in this case, elbow). Ray Allen was about to push him aside, but Varejao was already too close, thus he got hit in the groin. Try pushing someone away when you're on one knee to the ground and not looking. You'll notice that your elbows will go vertically up first, before angling your arms to push the guy off. At 1:24 of youtube video, you'll notice it wasn't at the center of Varejao's groin.
This isn't really an issue to me, considering it's not a playoff game.

Because I clutch my fist before I am about to push someone
Don't make excuses. It was a dick move and he was justly banned for it.

My question is why the hell are you putting your nuts in Ray Allen's face? Ray should have hit him in the face.

They can still open their fist when their arm is in pre-swinging motion. Ray Allen was just pissed when Varejao threw him to the ground. I would have clenched my fist, if that happened to me, but I wouldn't give Varejao a punch.

LOL. My nuts is nowhere near his face. He lives in Boston.
Why would he want to make the situation worse by throwing a punch, when he could've pushed instead? Varejao was close, that's all.

Good job contradicting yourself.
Like I said who clenches their fist before they push?
He was trying to elbow him...end of story.
Andy ran into him which made him fall to the ground and in his frustration of being blown out of the water by the Cavs Ray exerted some of his frustrations.

First off, you don't know where I live, so you couldn't hit me in the nuts even if I have offered.
Ray Allen's incident with Varejao was accidental. Varejao could have open up his hands after he locked Ray for a couple of seconds, but instead, he goes to the length of fully throwing him down. Thus, he was slightly closer than he would have been if he would have let Ray Allen go sooner, leading to the contact in his groin area.
If Varejao would have let go sooner, then Ray Allen would have gotten up, and push Varejao, since Varejao wasn't too close to him.
