Default Any Progress Reports on Turiaf?

Howdy Folks,

So, we have talked about hopeful improvements from Sasha, Kwame, Bynum, and many others.

How about Turiaf? Has anyone read anything or does anyone have insight on him? I like this kid a lot! I'd like to know how he is doing.

Laughable. Those are starter caliber numbers. Turiaf is nothing more than a black Mark Madsen with a little bit more skills.

Where do you get that opinion from? Care to elaborate?

I love Turiaf but he's not very good...for that matter he isn't very young either.

I'd be estatic if he turned into a good backup PF...but that's his ceiling IMO.

Whew, yeah at 23 he'd better start checking for appointments so he can have a hip replacement like Phil....

:stupid:

Look, as ar as his ceiling goes, he's not young anymore. Most players are what they are by 23.

Really? Wow, I never knew that. So Kobe hasn't progressed at all since turning 23 5 years ago? Kwame made major strides going from age 23 to 24, Lamar improved as well and he's 27...

Turiaf is already way better than Madsen ever could be (after one season his stats are well above Marks career numbers), and he's had almost no playing time in the NBA yet. Whether or not he can develop into a starter is yet to be seen, but I think stating that he's reached his potential already is downright idiotic.

Once again I say :stupid:

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but can you back it up with something factual. There are many in the league that believe he has upside.

I also disagree with your comment about "most players are what they are by 23." Where did you come up with that one as well?

Turiaf is wealthy man's Mark Madsen. That's all I'm saying. I'd be estatic if he turns into a much better player than Madsen but I doubt it.

He's not a freak athlete, he's very foul prone...

However, he does have some size and strength. He also seems to be a good shotblocker. Limited offensive skills, though.

I hope you guys are right, I love Turiaf and I don't only love him for his personallity, passion and energy but I also like the type of a player that he is.

Hard nosed no non sense type of a defender...an enforcer.

I hope he becomes a good player, I really do..but I doubt it.
