I had truly forgotten what a cesspool of hating teenagers ISH had become. 6-7 years ago it was a great place with some great basketball minds but has degraded beyond recognition. That is why my post count is about 20 a year.
Then distinguish why Duncan is a center based on skill set and not the fact that he played with other tall people. If your that great of a bball mind... what a joke
Im not even hating on Duncan, I love Duncan's game but its a center's game.
How?
A center's game is to protect the paint, rebound, block shots, back down players.
Not: Shoot from 18 ft out. Drive. Dribble between their legs. Bank shot it from 15 out.
Because he's tall and can rebound and play the paint he's a center?
Maybe Hakeem was considered a center because he wanted to be considered a center. Who knows, who gives a crap. Position of player denotes nothing of production on the court.
So Duncan and KG both shoot from wing. Both rebound. Both dunk. Both play with their back to the basket. Both drive. Both defend the paint.
But KG is a PF and Duncan is a Center?
Duncan hasnt shot from the wing and made shots consistently in years. He gets the mahority of his points from the post while KG gets his from the wing. KG has a ton more mobility and is able to attack off the dribble. There is a huge difference between KG and Duncan.
then i guess Hakeem is a Power Foward. he played PF when Ralph Sampson started.
but the fact is, both Hakeem and Ralph Sampson were center.
Twin Tower.
Tim Duncan is a center. He playing on Robinson's side doesn't make him a power foward.

Yes it did. He played against 4's. He guarded 4's. He played with a face up game at the high post in addition to his post abilities, and wasn't relegated to hanging around the basket. If he was 6'10'', there wouldn't be an argument. He played PF for the majority of his career.

Then why isnt Hakeem a center....somebody explain the difference...either Duncan and Hakeem or centers or Hakeem is a power forward.

If you could properly list the skill sets for a center and a power forward respectfully, then maybe you'd figure it out yourself.

thats the thing there is no set skill sets there are only set examples. Like who is considered a center and who is considered a power forward. Im trying to use analogical reasoning to find some kind of distinction based on skill set. I guess by some people's point of view if you play Shaq and Dwight Howard together then Dwight is a power forward?

If you had ever watch Barkley, Malone, Kevin Garnett, Stoudemire play, you would know what power forward is like.
First of all PFs are extremely mobile, they are quick and alot of their points comes from driving to the basketball and dunking. Also PFs are suppose to be good at taking midrange jumpers. Go watch basketball sometimes.
