I'm just not a Corey Stokes fan. He's a poor man's JR Smith in my opinion. He basically has the mind of JR Smith and does everything that JR does but with less consistency. He's not as good of a shooter, less of an athlete, etc but still takes horrible shots and can't dribble very well. If Scottie had Corey's height and body, he'd be a 1st round pick.

Reggie's nice though, but probably a 2nd rounder at best. I wouldn't use "much better" when comparing him and Scottie in any regard.

I don't even think Madagascar is an option. Reynolds talent level will land him to Pluto when that planet has a basketball league.

Lol no one think he could be sort of a Eddie House type bench player for a team.

Cool. At least he did not sign with an agent. He can gauge his vaule and work on his game some more and increase his draft vaule for next season.

It's ignorant to think he has no chance at the league, sure, but it's even more ignorant to think he's likely to be anything of note in the NBA. He's about 6'1", not super-fast, not a point guard and he's streaky. If he was a flat-out great shooter he'd be a better prospect, but he isn't.

He is nowhere near the shooter Eddie House is. I think he surprised a lot of people his freshman year, but really was underwhelming after that. I think some team will take him in the second round this year or next to be their 3rd PG.

No chance. Scottie hasn't been an NBA prospect since after his freshman season. I'm sure he's just entering the draft to get that "draft experience".

-He's a streak shooter, and not a good one
-His ballhandling is only average
-He's not a point guard, as playing without Nardi has shown (wang4three can back me up)
-He's a below average athlete
-He was 6'0" coming out of high school, then magically was listed at 6'2" at Nova. Seeing him in person, he wasn't much taller than me and I'm 5'9". He wasn't 6'2" anyway.

List of better pg prospects this draft:

Brandon Jennings
Ricky Rubio
Jonny Flynn
Ty Lawson
Eric Maynor
Nick Calathes
Curtis Jerrells
Jrue Holiday
Darren Collison
Patrick Mills
AJ Price

List of better pg/sg combo prospects:

Stephen Curry
Jeff Teague
Greivis Vasquez
Toney Douglas
Tyrese Rice

List of better undersized sg prospects:

Jerel McNeal
Marcus Thornton
Jermaine Taylor
Dar Tucker

List of better regular sized sg prospects:

James Harden
Tyreke Evans
Demar Derozan
Gerald Henderson
Dionte Christmas
Terrence Williams
Chase Buddinger
Wayne Ellington
Jodie Meeks
Wesley Mathews

This year's draft is stocked with guards. Scottie would be stupid to enter the draft. Go back to Nova, take your stacked team back to a final 4, and have a good tournament and you'll boost your stock. Reynolds is in the same boat as Eric Devendorf this year.

I do agree with your post but I don't think Jrue Holliday is PG. He's more of either a combo gaurd or a shooting gaurd

i agree with you Posterize that he's got a lot to work on to make the league and do something there, but he is working out 3 times a day now and he's taking this process very seriously. I definitely agree he should come back, but to say he has "no" chance at the league...cmon now. How many people have been told that. Did anyone ever think Earl Boykins would do anything in the league? how about Will Bynum? those are just 2 examples of undrafted scoring guards under 6 foot, anything is possible as KG would say. He has the ability to score, and he can improve with time. Just don't count him out before he even gets here.

Quote:
VILLANOVA, Pa. – Scottie Reynolds has removed his name from the 2009 National Basketball Association draft pool and will return to Villanova for his senior season in 2009-10, it was announced today.

"The best decision for me is to return to Villanova for my senior year," stated Reynolds, who averaged 15.2 points per game in helping lead Villanova to a school-record 30 victories last season. "I'd like to thank everyone who put their time into helping me get better during these NBA workouts. I especially want to thank my teammates and coaches here for all of their support. I felt like I learned a great deal from this process."

Was only worked out by 7 teams, didn't get an NBA combine invite.

How close is he to breaking any records at Nova?

I'm not sure, but I would guess not very close at all. He'll be more remembered for his team success than personal success there.
