Default Tom Chambers > Kobe Bryant

When it comes to the age they scored 60 points, anyway. Chambers was a few weeks older. Now that I've gotten your attention, here are some other other interesting numbers. Please note that all stats are from 86-87 onward. I'm sure Wilt scored 60+ when he was older than 30.

MOST FIELD GOALS WITHOUT A MISS

14 - Gary Payton on 01/04/95

MOST ASSISTS WITHOUT A TURNOVER

23 - John Stockton on 12/08/90

MOST POINTS SCORED WITHOUT MAKING A FIELD GOAL

15 - Darrick Martin on 12/14/96

MOST POINTS SCORED WITHOUT ATTEMPTING A FIELD GOAL

8 - Jarron Collins on 12/23/05

MOST POINTS SCORED WITHOUT ATTEMPTING A FREE THROW OR A THREE POINTER

48 - Hakeem Olajuwon on 01/30/97

MOST OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS WITHOUT REGISTERING A DEFENSIVE REBOUND

11 - Bill Laimbeer on 01/09/93

MOST ASSISTS WHILE SCORING 30 POINTS OR MORE

21 - Kevin Johnson on 02/26/89 (He had 30 points)

THE CLOSEST THING TO A 30 REBONDS AND 30 POINTS GAME

29 PTS/30 REBS - Kevin Willis on 12/03/91

MOST THREE POINTERS MADE WITHOUT MAKING A TWO POINTER

10 - Joe Dumars on 11/08/94

MOST BLOCKS WITHOUT A PERSONAL FOUL

12 - Keon Clark on 03/23/01

MOST STEALS WITHOUT A PERSONAL FOUL

9 - Eddie Jones on 11/04/99

OLDEST PLAYER TO SCORE 60 POINTS

30.3 - Tom Chambers on 03/24/90

And to start the discussion, does anyone else think Joe Dumars played NBA Jam all day before that game where he hit 10 threes and nothing else? He also had 10 FTs for a nice 40 points altogether.

Tom Chambers is the most underrated Forward of the 80's.

I agree! The guy never got his due. It's why winning an NBA championship is soooo important if you want to be considered an all time great.

When Kevin Garnett said this, he was mocked by some, but it's true.

A championship "certifies you!"

Chambers also never played in a big market. San Diego, Seattle, and Phoenix. In his prime, anyway. 2 of those teams have moved since, which tells you everything about the kind of exposure he would've gotten there.

I must say I have to agree with you. kiki vandeweghe and Tom Chambers were all time greats. They were two great players from what I consider the "golden age' of basketball. But they are forgotten. I don't think either one even made the 50 greatest players list.

It's further living proof that sterotypes hurt everyone!

You know, I sometimes mention to people that the real reason why the Blazers didn't draft MJ wasn't Clyde. It was Kiki. The Blazers had traded for him couple of weeks before the draft, and they simply did not need another volume scorer. Kiki put up 29.4 PPG the year before the trade. Still, people laugh and scoff when I bring this up. Both because they don't realize just how good Kiki was and because they think MJ's draft scouting reports said "Future GOAT."

The jab-step, fake, step back shoot move? Yeah, that was something else. He'd always use it, everyone knew he'd use it, and yet they'd fall for it every time.

Re-read the first sentence of the OP carefully. Then summon and use the reading comprehension skills you have learned throughout your life.

Not true. Wilt went 18-18 and 16-16. Crawford went 15-15 I think last year.

EDIT: Didn't see that you said it was from '87 onward. Still, I think Crawford went 15-15 or something last year.

Basketball-reference.com shows him as having 1 TO that game.
