I you could put only fifty rappers in who would it be and why? I tried to be creative but if someone has done this before I apologize.

1. Jay z
2. Dr. Dre
3. Bishop Lamont
4. Ya boy
5. Andre 3000
6. Mos Def

12. Vinnie Paz
13. Deacon the villain
14. Murs
15. AZ
16. Wale
17. Papoose
18. Jada
19. Cam'ron
20. Game
21. Jay Electronica
22. Royce da 5'9
23. MF Doom
24. Busta Rhymes
25. Common
26. Charles Hamilton
27. Joe Budden
28. Lupe Fiasco
29. Nas
30. Masta Ace
31. Phonte
32. Ice Cube
33. J. Cole (kid is dope)
34. Styles P
35. R.A. the rugged man
36. KRS-one
37. Inspectah Deck (Rebel INC)
38. Eminem
39. Elzhi
40. Sean Price
41. Method & Redman
42. Tonedeff
43. Black Thought
44. B.o.B.
45. Classified
46. Jasiri X
47. Immortal Technique
48. Fab
49. Cormega
50. Kid Cudi

I marked some bold, but these are in no real order, I just saw these as ones that are gonna have alot of dispute or questioning.

3. Bishop Lamont - Needs to be heard more outside of EA sports game, Dre's young prodigy that can spit

4. Ya Boy - Favorite rapper right now, his wordplays dope in some songs

9. Lil wayne - Definitely not a big fan here, but theirs no denying he can make a catchy song here and there.

19. Cam'ron - Forget about his old ****, he's back

26. Charles Hamilton - I don't see why he gets so much hate, I mean ya hes pretty corny at times, but at least he's spittin some real ****. Hes rappin about whats important to him and not just what the fans wanna hear.

38. Eminem - His new stuff is utter garbage, but everyone knows what he's capable of and when he brings it, he brings it.

39. Elzhi - Honestly had no clue who the **** he was before Playtetris posted some stuff, but once you check him out you can't stop.

43. Black Thought - This is kinda a biased pick for me as i'm a HUGE Roots fan

50. Kid Cudi - This was the hardest pick for me by far, I really don't like much of his stuff. But this track has changed my life for the better
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKD2EWLKcNU It makes me think alot about my life and goals and that song alone earns him spot 50 on my list.

Of course its not in order, i just numbered them to make them easier to read. And its in my opinion, i'm not claiming this is raps top 50. I'd have a much different list if that was true. I normally just browse these forums but recently started posting, and I must say you are the most annoying poster since stewen12. Honestly think before you post, ****ing retard.

DC's Finest--

you have a very broad range of styles repped in your list. frankly, i'm impressed with that. listing 50 and putting them in order is always going to be hard as hell, so i won't even go into disagreement or my views on who should be where, *except*...

Dre at number 2, when he's never written his own stuff from day 1, and you have Nas on there (as he should be), but no Rakim? any time Nas is listed, Rakim needs to be within a few spots. he's the guy Nas and a lot of other guys basically built their styles after, and the guy was one of the first MCs to really have a lot of depth and creativity in his lyrics.

"i start to think/and then i sink into the paper, like i was ink/when i'm writin' i'm trapped in between the lines/i escape... when i finish the rhyme"--far from his deepest line, but given how much he says about his passion, and how well it came off on record, that's pretty powerful for so few words.

i couldn't say who all i'd put in a top 50, but Rakim would have to be top 3-5 for me if i took long enough to sort it all out.

still blown away by the range of DC's Finest's top 50. that right there is someone who loves his music.

Exactly, I've gotten that alot. I have different views on different artists, if some mainstream artist makes a catchy song and I like it, I don't have a problem if there rapping about hoes and money. Sometimes you can tell their just having fun with their music, and I can respect that regardless if their lyrics suck. Then again I have such an appreciation for MC's who can spit some serious ****. And you know I've just never really gotten into Rakim that much. Funny because I used to own Paid in Full. No doubt I respect him, his flow has inspired more rappers than I can count, but his music just doesn't catch my ear like others do. And thank you ha, I do love my music
