Default Cavs vs Hawks series discussion

The Cavaliers are the stronger team, but how well can the Hawks do?

Mike Bibby vs Mo Williams should be fun to watch.

Who should guard LeBron James? Josh Smith or Marvin Williams? Obviously some help defense will also cover LeBron.

Talk about these teams, the matchups, the x-factors, and what you think will happen, and why

Mo Williams will run loops around Mike Bibby, Bibby is just too slow for this match-up.

Josh Smith gaurding LeBron is going to get over-hyped because in essence, Smith really has struggled when he's tried to gaurd LeBron, mainly because he has no mental awareness. A guy like Mo Evans would do a better job on LeBron on the perimeter, this should allow Smith and Horford to be "Help" defender's, that's Smith's main strong point...And Marvin Williams isn't 100% so, thats a no no...

With alll being said, Give me Cavs in 3..

Hawks will forfeit game 4.

The Cavs need to keep Zaza Pachulia off the boards.

The hawks would struggle with the Cavs even if they were 100% healthy. But if Marvin can't play they might not win a game. he is the only guy the Hawks have who can guard Lebron effectively.

Cavs in 5. The Hawks can win one(maybe even two) of their home games, but there's no way they beat the Cavs at home. Lebron will be very passive in this series, I believe. He'll still put up his 25, but it will be quiet. I can see Big Z, Delonte and Mo lighting it up.

Cavs in 4 is likely, maybe 5 at most.

Please the Cavs are merely a less athletic better shooting version of the Heat. They basicially have Lebron, Mo and a bunch of NBDL players whose only real skill is that they can hit the wide open jumpers that Lebron serves up to them. They have a 7'3 jumpshooting center and a dude that looks like Punchy.

The Hawks are going to expose them for the frauds that they are. Hawks in 5. Book it.

So just because you guys aren't Detroit, that justifies your prediction that Atlanta is somehow gonna beat the Cavs 4-1? Only if Lebron, Mo, Z, and Delonte simultaneously get injured.

You talking as if Mo, Z, and West are Magic, Kareem and Byron Scott. There is only one clear mismatch in this series and that is Lebron. Everyone else we have an answer for. And if Mo tries to guard JJ it is going to be devestating.

The Cavs are a good team but their record is mostly an indictment of the state of the league rather than their talent. You stop (edit: slow down) Lebron and who is going to take over the game? Boobie?

Yeah, you're right that ATL matches up pretty well with Cleveland, outside of Lebron, but that is a HUGE mismatch that will cost them the series. And if they slow down Lebron, Mo Williams is capable of scoring quickly.

I agree with some of what you say, I just don't see how you think the Hawks will win in 5.
