For 2 or 3 years, the Nets were one of the most exciting teams to watch. That team with Carter and Kidd almost had a legitimate center. Nenad Krstic was becoming a top notch center. Going into '06 they had Kidd/Carter/Jefferson and Krstic was turning the Big 3 into the Fantastic 4. About 25 games in, Krstic absolutely wrecked his knee and that was pretty much it for him as a Net. As a result, the Nets were only able to make it to the 2nd round.
Had he not gotten hurt, they would have given the Cavs a better series. Not sure they beat them, but it would've been closer.
