Same here, but I would also like add one more argument for our mutual preference: rawness leaves the meat more vulnerable to disease (unless you are eating a cow like this

I like it to have some taste, but also relatively tender at the same time. I usually go with medium, but medium rare is good sometimes too

rare if i am cooking it, but if i am eating out i'd rather medium or at least medium rare.

A perfect med rare is what i usually get, i understand liking it medium though. If you're having it cooked fuller than medium you shouldn't be eating steak, just get a hamburger, you can't taste the meat when it's done like that anyway.

Different spots have different definitions but usually medium is what I like. Some places prepare mediums like it was medium-well and that's disgusting to me.

wheras in france what ever you orderit comes blue, rare, mediu, welldone, they still serve it blue

i personally prefer it cooked differently depending on the cut

fillet, R or MR
Sirloin MR or M
Ribeye MR to MW
Rump MR or M
