Pipe Dream, requires a lot of things to work out right, makes us a little smaller and doesn't necessarily help our 3pt shooting much, but it makes us a hell of a lot younger and more athletic
T Will & Stack for Maggete and J Hill (assuming twill to 22 and jhill to 7, offloads maggete's bad contract)
Damp and Bass for Okafur (financial relief for other team with a young talent in Bass)
Josh Howard for Josh Smith (financial incentive here as well for trading partner)
Damp and Bass for Okafur (financial relief for other team with a young talent in Bass)
well this NEVER happens. you've gotta be realistic. Okafor was the #2 overall draft pick . no way they're going to accept Damp & Bass.

I don't know exactly what the Mavs need to do. but I'm about done with the Veteran movement. this team is getting old fast. when are we ever going to trade/draft/do anything to get some younger players in here who have a chance to grow into something special.
we tried the Veteran mode, and it didn't work. I'm not saying blow the team up. but just add some youth movement to the team a little.
I'm hoping for a Rip/Redd for Damp and 1st rounder.
Kidd
Rip/Redd
J-Ho
Dirk
Gortat
Terry
Better than Portland then, potential to be 3rd seed in West
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought we cannot trade consecutive year picks? If we were to send a pick it would be 2012 and by that time, we'd likely be rebuilding.
I'm pretty sure we can get Redd easily for Stack+fillers or Damp easily without the pick.

I'd much rather have Rip than Redd. Rip would give this team a much different dimension than what we are used to seeing, where Redd is mainly just another 3-point shooter who is only slightly better than Terry.
Stack, dampier, future picks, possible S&T, fillers from both teams and maybe a guy like Terry could all be options in a Rip trade. The parts are there, it's just up to Donnie and Cuban to try and see if they can make it work.

You're right about not trading consecutive 1st round picks. We don't have our 2010 pick because that was also part of the Kidd trade, so 2012 is the next time we can trade a 1st rounder.
First off we have to sign Bass. Secondly The Rip for Damp and Stack is highly likely seeing that Damp has one yr left plus Detroit needs a Big man. Dreams though ive been dissapointed before Kidd/Harris trade now look at us.

The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have signed rookie Rodrigue Beaubois. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Beaubois (6-2, 182) was selected with the 25th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. He was acquired, along with a second round pick, from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for the Mavericks’ 24th overall selection B.J. Mullens.
The Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe native appeared in 29 French Pro A games in 2008-09 and averaged 10.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 22.3 minutes per game. Beaubois showed marked improvement from his 2007-08 campaign when he averaged 5.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 15.1 minutes per contest.
Beaubois is a member of the Mavericks Summer League Team. Dallas will play in the 2009 NBA Summer League presented by EA Sports. The squad will see its first action on Friday, July 10 when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks at COX Pavilion in Las Vegas.
