Brand, if he ever goes back to how he used to play, is a solid defender, as is Iggy. They can easily hide Kapono on the defensive end, and just because he's starting, does not mean he'll play 35 minutes, you can start himi to spread the floor and only play him 20 minutes or s

I like it for Philly, especially if they can get Kapono to take more threes, but I don't know about how well Toronto makes out. Yeah, Evans is a tough player, but he's also an undersized big man who's 28 years old, an age right around where players like that tend to start to fall off rapidly. He also plays the same position as Toronto's two best frontcourt players (three best if you're a Mensah-Bonsu bandwagoner like me). I think the Raps would be better off trading Bargs or Bosh, since that would clear up space for one of them to play his natural position and allow Toronto to pair whoever stays with the kind of tough athletic big (Noah? Biedrins?) that both need to play with.

Or just bring him off the bench for 20 minutes.

I like the trade, Philly fans will destroy Kapono if he cant shoot it consistently.

I agree. Philly's defense is good enough that they can cover for someone like Kapono who's at best mediocre. Even though they'll take a bit of a hit with Eddie Jordan coaching the team, they've still got enough long, athletic types that their defense will be good, or at least good enough.

well the off-season isnt over yet (actually it hasnt even started yet ) so the Raps probably have future plans about the Bargs-Bosh frontcourt situation. Either one will get traded or one will come off the bench while the Raps somehow acquire a legit Center.

They had that lineup for 17 games. They brought in a coach that's supposed to help fix the offense, so they'll go back to that lineup. Thad was averaging 21 ppg for the last month and a half of the season, no way he's coming off the bench.

he's already an undersized PF, do you really want him guarding Cs?

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I just think it's a bit reckless to make a deal now, before they've officially traded either of them, especially since it's not like there's a bunch of teams looking to ride that Reggie Evans train to the finals right now.

Eddie Jordan needs shooters, so this makes sense. Good trade for both teams.
