Re: Tim Floyd resigns from USC
So Tim Floyd PAID OJ Mayo to come and play there?
That raises several questions.
Why would Tim Floyd be willing to risk his job just to get a one-and-done guard like Mayo?
Why would any coach be willing to pay a recruit to come to their school?
Why would Mayo be asking for money? It's like your going to be a millionaire a year later, but you have to risk damaging your reputation and causing problems for yourself and others for a few thousand dollars?
What happens if no one agrees to pay Mayo, or if they report him to the NCAA for demanding payment? Would he have pulled a Brandon Jennings?
Why can't top players just go to college in exchange for a full scholarship and other LEGAL privileges like other student athletes? And get their damn money when they go to the pros?
Considering that the NCAA makes tons of money from college sports, is a full scholarship a fair cut of the profits?
