Also, how ridiculous was that 3 point prayer by Ariza to beat the shot clock in the fourth quarter. That really kept the Lakers in the game, where a miss could have swung the pendulum in the opposite direction.

LOL @ anyone who says Kobe doesn't deserve the Finals MVP.

Jordan had bad games in the Seattle and first Utah finals, won it easily.

Kobe does a lot for the team that doesn't show up on the stat sheet, easily the Finals MVP

Jordan: 11-27 on 41% vs. Utah

Second one is almost identical to Kobe's line today. Kobe's stat line for the series looks great too, can't be a hero every game.

Kobe is the coach, he deserves 2 rings for this.

To Mourning and cotdt, Phil is the coach of the laker team, he may not show it like Stan, but he makes all of the switches/adjustments. Lets not take anything away from the HOF coach.

To all the Lakers fans stop complaining about Kobe, because if those shots had fallen in, most of the trolls would be saying he is the GOAT and how he is better then Michael Jordan. Kobe did do a lot for the team tonight; most of Arizas points were created by the double team on Kobe, and his defense in the 4th on Rashad was good. He had the defensive intensity that gave everybody else on the team motivation to win. Unfortunately in the last 5 minutes or so, he realized it was getting to the wire and decided to take it himself, and started shooting bad shots, but that does not mean he is not the most important player on that Laker team.

People here saying Kobe does not deserve the Finals MVP, who else does besides him? Gasol, Odom, Ariza? Most of those guys were gone throughout most of the game, and Gasol has not been himself almost the entire series except maybe Game 1. Since the playoffs started, Kobe has probably been the only player that showed up night in and night out, especially during the Nuggets series. Even when his shot was not falling, he was motivating the guys on the court, and dishing the ball out. Tonight was no different, I saw at least 5 times where in the huddle Kobe was the coach, coaching the team, and even before that last shot by Fisher you saw him the huddle talking to them. On the subject of the Fisher shot, Kobe made two excellent passes to Fisher at the end of regulation and OT that put the game away, so people here complaining Kobe does not deserve the Finals MVP, well if he does not, then who does?

As for the elbow, when watching it on the replay you can clearly see Kobe was about to turn as Nelson was coming around him, and as he turned, Nelson was running from the other side to catch Fisher and hit into Kobe's elbow. They will rarely call that especially in these situations, and the calls they were giving Orlando tonight. Orlando lost this game because of all of the missed free throws, as well as turnovers, and just not being able to perform under pressure and giving it away. I personally believe that if the ratio of freethrows going in Orlandos way was smaller, the Lakers would not have needed the OT to beat them. The calls early on in the game put us at a bad position because all three of our big guys were out, and we had to go to Mbenga and Powell, the two guys who have almost not played at all during these playoffs, and that is why we were down by 12 at the end of first half. We were not doing to many things wrong, but Orlando was just doing too many things right, and not having our top 3 big men in there also did damage.

Great game, and onto Game 5, I just hope the Lakers do not show up with their easy going personality and give the Magic some hope, I want this to be done with already.

You make good points. Haters wanna make this about stats concerning Kobe.

I just see a guy who's helping his team win. Great victory for Laker nation.

I think that was one of the most impressive wins in NBA finals history. You can say the Magic choked, but the Lakers overcame one of the best games of Dwight Howard's career (at least defense and rebounding wise), a 12-point halftime deficit and horrible officiating to win this game. Truly amazing. Whether you think the calls were BS or whether the Lakers were just legit playing dumb basketball, the fact that they won this game despite only getting two free throw attempts to 18 for Orlando in the 4th quarter and OT is absolutely remarkable.

Notice the 2nd 3-peat, Jordan's FG% on the downward spiral after he hit age 30 - like Kobe is now

I agree about Phil. He deserves another ring just to put him over top and make history.

On a side note... I loved Drew's play tonight. Active, aggressive, hard (clean) fouls.

I would like to congradulate the Lakers and its fans on a great win...That win tonight showed plenty of heart and determination that I had been critical of in recent times, and yes, I will also congradulate Kobe on a very good game too...There was some luck go the Lakers way, but the Magic had the rub of the green too, Fisher and Ariza came up BIG...I saw a very fair and honest battle out there, and Kobe was very focused and showed good team basketball tonight, Magic fans I hope you also can dig down and congradulate this team too...
