1-Blake Griffin 2-Ricky Rubio 3-James Harden 4-Brandon Jennings 5-Hasheem Thabeet 6-Tyreke Evans 7-Jonny Flynn 8-Stephen Curry 9-Demar DeRozan 10-Jordan Hill 11-Earl Clark 12-Gerald Henderson 13-Jrue Holiday 14-James Johnson 15-BJ Mullens 16-Terrence Williams
My pick is Eric Maynor. Ed Stefanski has said he would go for the best guard available and the only SG I could see him taking over a PG just went at #16. Andre Miller is unlikely to re-sign, Royal Ivey decided to not pick up his player option, so currently Lou Williams is our only "PG" on the roster. I wouldn't be surprised if the Sixers picked Lawson but there's a couple reasons why I am not picking Ty. 1)Lawson seems to only be able to play at one speed; really really fast. While Maynor is able to play fast, slow, in the middle, or all 3 in 1 possession. 2)Lawson is only 5'11" and it would be extremely difficult to have both he and Lou Williams on the floor at the same time. 3)Lawson has had some injury problems recently.4) I believe Maynor projects as the better long range shooter in the NBA, a Sixers weakness.
Maynor/Lou/Thad/Speights is a great 22 and under core to build for the future.
Count:
Eric Maynor-8
Ty Lawson-5

Re: ISH Mock Draft - #17 Overall - Philadelphia 76ers
Lawson, showed he can get it done on the big stage with the big boys.
Either way, I think Williams would be the starting PG over Maynor/Lawson, so might as well go Lawson and let him develop a shot.
p.S. don't mean to be a d!ck, but it's Jonny Flynn
Re: ISH Mock Draft - #17 Overall - Philadelphia 76ers
Maynor. Lawson may have a higher ceiling, but Maynor's w/o a doubt to me the more complete player right now and if you need a 1 to play big minutes he's much safer.
Re: ISH Mock Draft - #17 Overall - Philadelphia 76ers
Ty Lawson. Unlike Maynor he has the benfit of winning a national championship with the Tar Heels which has to count for something in scout's minds possibly. I actually think Lawson is going to have more success than Maynor believe it or not. Guys that have played with him say that he's lightning quick and we've seen that he can consistently knock down jumpers (clutch jumpers too, see FSU game). Seems like a great PG prospect to me.
Re: ISH Mock Draft - #17 Overall - Philadelphia 76ers
short speedy guys like lawson need a jumpshot to make it in the nba and ty lawson's jumpshot is questionable to me at this point, i don't think lawson could be a starter in the league.
maynor has the size, and craftiness this would be a perfect steal for the 76ers at #17
Re: ISH Mock Draft - #17 Overall - Philadelphia 76ers
Something else I thought of to differentiate Lawson/Maynor. If Maynor was the pg on that UNC championship team would it have changed their success? It seems like they would have had just as good a chance at a title. And would it have affected Maynor's draft stock at all? Chances are it would have raised it or kept it the same, doubtful it would have been lower.
But if Lawson had played PG for VCU would VCU have had the success they did? And would he be projected to go nearly as high as he is now? I just can't see it. Playing on a great team is a great way to boost your stock and Maynor has found a way around that wall. Idk if Lawson could have done the same if put in that situation.
