Consistent how? Points? Defense? Rebounds? Be more specific.
Pietrus averages more points and rebounds this season than Courtney Lee. And that's with less minutes.
Pietrus has been inconsistent in playing games. If he was starting, our lineup would be too inconsistent. Where as if Courtney Lee starts, he doesn't get his minutes juggled around and he can develop smoothly.

Pietrus' drives to the basket are very valuable to this franchise IMO.
I completely agree with you that his drives and hardy playing is extremely valuable to this franchise.
BUT, as a starter he would not be fitting. It is like Ginobili, a very in your face style of offensive play but his body gets beaten and battered. If Pietrus were to be a starter he would quickly become fatigued and would not be as effective.
I was kinda surprised to see J.J. starting last night. But he played well, I liked seeing him move the ball around and took some nice shots. Great contribution. He did get into foul trouble though.
But I'm glad Pietrus shot started falling and nobody can deny the awesomeness of Air France. That fast break slam dunk was absolutely sick. As was the reverse alley oop dunk. Pietrus is ready.
No doubt about it, Michael Pietrus is one of the more talented French players, but I don't think he should start. Coming of the bench would probably do him good, as he brings a whole lot of energy to the second unit. And I agree with Vipertonna. We should really look for a good PF during the off-season.
