You should have put a big ass warning in the OP stating: "Hawkfan, by NO means does this mean you should make more trade idea threads"

Sigh......I need Hawkfan to come up with more scenarios for me..........

Eddy Curry and the Hawks for Claxton/Law made sense for both teams, but alas that didn't happen.

I don't see Curry getting moved until next year when his contract becomes an expirer, unless the Knicks want to take on the likes of Marco Jaric or something like that.

Who knows - spring is eternal with bigs - you never know when they develop. Wouldn't count on it though.

Isn't Bibby a free agent? This could easily mean that they are not looking to sign Bibby anymore, and will make Crawford their PG. Horrible plan? Yes. But it's Atlanta, so it's to be expected...

yep Bibby is a FA. So is Flip and Pachulia (all UNrestricted)

Their restricted FAs are:

Thomas Gardner
Othello Hunter
Mario West
Josh Childress (they might not sign him though)
Solomon Jones
Marvin Williams

Bibby isn't affected by this, but either Flip or Marvin will be, since both are free agents. If Flip leaves, then JC becomes the primary combo guard off the bench. If Marvin leaves, then JC plays more SG and SF.

Depends on what contracts those two get elsewhere.

The Hawks need to re-sign Zaza and hopefully add another big.

JC may be a knucklehead, but he can score.

Comparing JC to Josh Smith is not fair, since Smith has moments of being a knucklehead on offense, but defensively he is the Hawks best help defender and one of the best help defenders in the whole league.

Yup, that's why I don't get this. Hawks need a PG. Hawks need some bigs. And they trade for Crawford, the one position they have locked up with JJ?

I like Jamal, just not for the Hawks....weird........

Could just as easily signal a trade tomorrow night or sometime after.

I don't know if Atl can afford Bibby and Marvin back on their roster. I see one of the two coming but possibly neither. Teams might show interest in Marvin Williams and offer him a healthy contract which Atl might be scared to match (I hope the raps offer him a contract). Also with this trade, I really feel they are looking away from retaining Bibby back. Crawford and JSmoove in the starting lineup ...

Yea, I guess it's a good trade for the Hawks but I like it for the Warriors too. They need a true PG and Acie Law can give them that. In fact, if they didn't promise Monta Ellis that they wouldn't draft a PG, they certainly would have.

I remember watching Jamal, the seattle product, Crawford when he was on the Bulls. He dropped 50 one game. He can score but he is the utter definition of a chucker. He can't really do anything other than score but that's all ATL needs him for. The Hawks were pretty pathetic in the playoffs. Crawford can win a game by himself if he pops off. The Hawks could have used that this past season.

Most career games played among active players w/o making the playoffs: Jamal Crawford.
