VC joined the Tar Heels when Sheed was already gone

If They can Sign Sheed, then they can afford to let Hedo walk. A line up of:

Howard
Sheed
Shard
VC
Nelson

will scare the pants off any coach in the league. Plus Sheed will be another 3point threat as a big man, forcing his defender to come out, leaving Howard down-low to beast.

Wow, I cant wait for the season to start.

Good move from Orlando.

If they don't resign Turkoglu now, they'll still be a strong team, if they resign him, they'll be just clearly better than last season's...

Now I don't believe Turk will resign with the Magic, the way he said he was going to opt out it's like he already decided what he wanted.
Maybe he still will, but I doubt it.

The East is getting stronger... I can see the Heat also making some changes.

Poor Rafer. He really wanted to stay in Orlando. Jameer being healthy enough to play some minutes in the finals was enough to ship him out.

How's Nelson's recovery coming?

Sign Sheed... S&T Hedo to Blazers for Outlaw + filler(Bayless?).... And the Magic will be a better team next year. Probably favorites or co-favorites with LA.

Meer/Bayless?/AJ
VC/Pietrus/JJ
Shard/Outlaw
Sheed/Anderson
Dwight/??/Foyle

Holy ****.

If they are going SIGN-and-trade hedo why not just keep him?

In a trade you're getting the same (or just about the same) amount of $$$ via contracts. It's like trading Charmelon and Charmander for Charizard. Why not just keep Charizard?

Because it's clearly not about amount of money as much as it is about length of contract... Magics window is 3-4 years when Shards contract runs up and then we will reboot. Hedo is the same age as Shard thats why Magic want to give him a 3-4 yr deal. Hedo wants to start at a 5 yr deal, so we'll ship him to whoever is willing to give him that(granted that the team cant afford him on their own means)....

But if we trade with a team who has a little cap room, like a Portland or a Sacto, they can absorb a bit of extra salary so the contracts dont quite have to match exactly.

The magic got rid of a young 2 guard who has shown signs of being a really good player for a 50 year old dunk artist.....
And now they don't have one of their match up problem players that helped them get to the finals in the first place.

Go ahead and continue overrating Lee. I love the kid but he will be nothing more than a solid role player. Those who say he is the next Rip Hamilton will be sadly disappointed.

Why is everybody overrating this kid? I noticed nothing special about him. Infact, replace him with VC and that last second alleyoop for the game winner goes in... and we have a series.

A solid role player for the next 8 years and a primary ball handler that made math up problems > a dunk artist that will retire in 2 years.

And I'm not calling him the next Rip Hamilton.

Having another player alongside Howard who commands a double team > A role player who doesnt promise anything.

Role players are a dime a dozen. A skilled scorer like VC will make this orlando offense even more dangerous. Your b!tching about a player who brings nothing special.

Courtney Lee averaged 8.4. do i expect him to get better? yes, about 14ppg. Will that get Orlando a title shot in the near future? Nope.

VC is an amazing pickup. he can get 20ppg & 5 assists all while playing within Orlando's offense.
