As the NBA draft approached, the grim truth about Yao Ming’s(notes) broken left foot hung like an anvil over the Houston Rockets. The fear isn’t that he’s just lost for next season, but longer.
The Rockets and Yao’s reps are frightened over his future, and the concern is the most base of all: Does Yao Ming ever play again?
“The realization has hit them that this is grave,” one NBA general manager said.

Terrible. Just couldn't get a break in his NBA career. Er, bad choice of words but I was always pulling for Yao. Seems like a great guy and wanted to see how he could perform in the playoffs with a good team fully healthy.
Yeah, and that's a real shame. Might as well call it a career, he'll never be close to 100%. He's on the 'what could've been' list with Bill Walton, Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, and now his teammate T-Mac.
We should hold a candlelight vigil for a career that ended too soon
In humans, when a bone breaks, the body sends calcium/minerals/vitamins and growth hormones to the area, and it heals, slower or faster, depending on the person.
But it always heals unless they're like an 80-year old broad with osteoperosis...
...wtf is wrong with Yao's immune system or DNA that a broken foot won't heal ?

I think it has something to do with the fact hes over 7'5.
Hopefully this is a rumor and it looks like it from the way I see it. I won't believe it until it hits the news, not from this Yahoo Sports Idiot. Until the Houston Rockets GM and the entire team comments on it, I will just speculate this as a rumor.
But at the moment I am speechless.
It also makes sense why the Rockets are trying to get Rubio, they are tearing this team apart.
Along with this I will have to say this is terrible news. But hopefully it is all speculation at this point. Never liked Adrian's articles on Yahoo Sports. But seeing that Yahoo Sports works throughout the world and not just the USA, he would lose all his credibility in a nano-second.
Wow this guy has known nothing but never living up to his potential...injuries have plagued him and mcgrady. just imagine if the both of them were healthy...but yeah he is now on the list of what could have beens...pretty sad actually
